crufootball = here's a seating chart for the seats at UWL.

http://www.uwlathletics.com/sports/2009/10/15/FB_1015093656.aspx?path=football

(I hope it opens for you; I would have posted the link with my previous post, but I wasn't able to read it on the computer I was at. If you can't read it, go to the UWL site, and look under the football pages. There should be the same link there.)

Why is section HH between sections DD and EE?  I hope UWL athletes have a better grasp of the alphabet than whoever laid out the stadium seating.

They still make visitors stay on the old side, opposite of where UWL fans sit in their new stands. But, since they don't have bleachers installed there yet, anyone not wearing maroon and silver has to watch from up on Grandad's Bluff, with binoculars...  ;)

Those bleachers, to be located on the east side, are part of Phase II renovations, which requires $5.1 million total, $1.6 million for the first priority of east-side bleachers, which may be scaled back to a $1.2 million project, and $3.5 million for locker room and strength center.

Not sure how they are coming on the funds for those renovations, though...
Seriously???  I didn't think the visitor's side could get much worse than in the old stadium with the obstructed views from all the light posts.  Not to mention the overflow U-WLC student section who usually are fairly boisterous. It was brutal during the amazing comeback game in 07 until the second half when most of them cleared out heading to the bars to celebrate a victory, I assumed!   ;) :D ;D

OK I finally got the 92 highlight tape dubbed from VHS to DVD and now on the internet.  Not as good as Wildcat 11"s videos but a blast from the past.  Quite a bit of Spencer Johnson running the ball.  plus for BDB a view of Stout's old "Swamp" field.  Enjoy.

Excellent, 78.  Warhawk football has a rich tradition.

crufootball: I'm a UW-LaCrosse fan, and plan to attend the UMHB game this season. If you wish, I will be happy to assist you in your visit to one of Wisconsin's most beautiful cities. My fellow posters' comments notwithstanding, I think you will findUW- LaCrosse, and the city of LaCrosse, a great place to visit. Please let me know if I may be of any help.

yea, no real surprise there. However, i see Quincy Daniels from UMHB is on there again. What is he an 8th year senior now? it feals like he's been around forever  ;)

Isn't Jenkins from Point playing this season?? or did he graduate? i thought I might see him get some preseason DIII recognition, but then again there are some good WR this year to beat out. ie..Shorts and Zweifel.

Pat Coleman

Jenkins is playing as far as I know and was on our board at both punter and wide receiver but since we have only first and second team in preseason, he didn't make the list.

Thanks Brian Carroll. Due to travel schedules I won't be spending much time in La Crosse other than the game (also will be going to a Brewer-Cub game). Any ideas for places to eat though would be much appreciated. In regards to not having a visitors side, I would take that any day over sharing the local high school field like we do at UMHB.

02 Warhawk, it does seem like Quincy Daniels has been around forever and this will be his 5th season. Back in 2008 he got hurt in the second game of the season and was out the whole year so he took a medical redshirt and will be back for one last run.

I find it interesting that both Mount Union and UWW have 3 players each named to the All- America team. ;D

Also, Kyle Miller TE from Mount at 6'6' 260 and great hands could get an NFL look if he has a good year, we will see!

02 Warhawk,

I think both Mount Union and UWW have some questions to answer this year. Two come to mind, one, who will be the QB's and how effective will they be and two, how good will the defenses be after graduation losses? :-\

We we know who our QB is going to be...but you're right about questioning how affective he'll (Blanchard) be. On the plus side, he'll be playing behind one of the best O-lines in the country. UWW is returning all but one starting o-lineman...two of which are pre-season all americans. Not to mention playing along side one of (if not the) best RB in the country. Whitewater's D-line and LBs should be solid...but they'll have to replace a lot fo talent in the secondary.

I wouldn't worry about your Purple Raiders, they always seem to get things accomplished and questions answered.  :)

I think the job description for the new Warhawk QB this fall should read something like this:

Starting QB should possess the following knowledge, skills or abilities:

1. To call a play in the huddle, get to the line of scrimmage and take the snap successfully before the play clock runs to :00.

2. Once taking the snap, to turn to the left and/or right without tripping over the center, guard or your own foot/feet.

3. To hand the ball to Coppage, Anderson, Stanley and/or .... whoever is in the backfield successfully and then turn and watch the ball carrier run to daylight.

4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 as many times as possible to get a W.

5. Throw the ball with precision to keep the defense guessing.

6. Keep your hands and body in perfect condition.

BoBo,

Here is a hypothetical: Let's say that UWW wins all their games and goes to the Stagg this year and once again they meet Mount Union.

Who does former All-American OL Derek Blanchard root for, his brother Matt the QB of UWW or his alma mater Mount Union? It may not happen, but it could again like the last 5 years! :)
