Whoever corrected me on when Stanley played for the Badgers you are right it was 2005 which was alvarez's lasy year as head coach. BW I know the two national championships have nothing to do with him being at UWW. However I do remember asking Brez about him when it came up and he said NO WAY IN HE**. and said they have a great RB and don't need him.
He's a good kid who made some big time mistakes. I am glad he is getting a second chance and is on hios way to get his degree which is  something no one can take away from him once he gets it.

Nice capsule on Stout.  They have a nice schedule early and a definite possibility to meet UWW for an undefeated showdown October 9th in Illinios, I mean Whitewater.  I am really interested to see how the travel plans effect that game as my Devils have to leave Saturday morning as opposed to the typical Friday departure.  Maybe more focused or more jetlegged, either way I know you cannot get down to UWW by more than a touchdown early.

Warhawkbabe,

I don't know you at all, so please don't take my response to this post personally.  Obviously, free speech allows you to post whatever you want. But it sure seems like a lot of your posts walk on the edge of trying to swirl up some type of controversy where there is none.  I have no idea what Brez told you or didn't tell you.  ANY comment Brez had on the matter undoubtedly was a function of the circumstances at the time and NOT a personal reflection on Booker. If in fact Brez said anything at all, I doubt he expected it to show up on a message board 5 years later. They are both part of the Warhawk family and I have no doubt Brez is 100% pulling for Booker to be successful in school, on the field, and in life.  Many, many people's lives have benefited greatly from being part of the Warhawk family. We are pulling for Booker to be yet another success story of Warhawk football.  Everything happens for a reason, and I would guess both Booker and his teammates are REALLY glad this is the year he's joined the team.

Thanks BDB. I'm pretty sure it holds true that NEITHER team wants to fall behind by more than a touchdown early. Stout's running game is way too strong to try to play them from behind. Of course, over the course of 60 minutes, it would probably be unwise for either team to "sit" on a lead.  Still, getting an early 2 score lead would certainly be a huge advantage for either team.

Hey, I'm still here!

I don't think it's unusual for the dominant team in the conference to also dominate the message board chatter (Isn't that right OAC? MIAC?).  Fans are more anxious to talk about a good team than a not-as-good team, so that seems expected.  Believe it or not, when I started using this message board, UWW was a regular 4th-6th place team and there were a lot fewer of you UWW fans around.  :D  Hard to believe for some of you more recent Warhawks I'm sure, but it's true.

guilty  :-\  I only started posting a few years ago...I was just an alumn that got excited when my alma mater became a hit on the national scene. I forgot how I came across D3boards...but I'm glad i did.  ;D

Plus, how would it look if the administrator wins the whole thing...you are the odds-on favorite every year, don't you know?

Maybe someone will come forward in the next week -- the call has been put out!!  ;)

Well................that is a legitmate point, BoBo, but now I have given away all my secrets!  LOL  ;D

Maybe Nate will show up again, he usually does just before the season begins.

I always thought the person who won it last got the job of setting the pick em's? that would give KitchenSink the position  8-)

KitchenSink

I won the playoff pool - badgerwarhawk won the regular season.

If I wasn't moving in Sept I'd be very willing to take it on.  Can somebody take the first 4 weeks or so?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I never leave...I just lurk :)

I'll keep track of the pickem again this year unless somebody else really wants to.  It's almost time for another fun season in the WIAC!

I don't mind handling it but I see Nate voluntered while I was typing.
Nate, I've posted the 9/2 - 9/4 schedule already.

My comments on the Harper scrimmage.......

1)  Offensive Line looked very good, but they should with 4 returning starters.
2)  Impressed with Matt Blanchard and Corey Knapp,
3)  I thought Luke Hibbner had an excellent game from D-Line.
4)  Tight end looks deep.  Novak played well (Jason Ford was out with illness), but whoever the other TE was looked very good as well.
5)  Will be interesting to see what happens in the secondary.
6)  No standout in kicking game, not enough placekicking to get any feel.

Just my thoughts

Preseason All Wisconsin D3 Team:
5 UWW
5 UWSP
2 UWS
1 UWL

2 Concordia
2 Carthage
2 Ripon
1 Carroll
1 Lakeland
1 Wisconsin Lutheran
1 Beloit
1 St. Norbert

I'll be the first to say not enough UWW, only one OL, 4 real?  Not enough WIAC overall IMHO.  I know it is to get readers from all areas, but no way is WIAC comparable to these other Wisconsin D3's.

Hey everyone, we have Oshkosh coming down to visit for opening weekend and wondered if there were any UWO supporters or if anyone could give me an idea of what to expect from them and how competitive the game should be!

Good luck this year

BP, that would be DBG, not me, BDB.  ;D  I agree though, I am enjoying the "capsules" as well.

Rumor central: Look for Alexander Webb, Indiana University RS Sophomore cornerback 6' 183 lbs. from Mequon, Wisconsin (Homestead H.S.) to be transferring to Whitewater -- any day now. He was a two-time scout team player of the week last year for the Hoosiers.

Seems like he is a walk-on (no scholarship) playing on the scout team. Might as well come to UWW and have a better chance at some PT.
