So where's fanofWIAC when you need him?  ;)
We spend a whole day talking about his teams and he's no where to be seen.

He's here and absorbing it all!!   8-)
Many thanks for all the info.  Wish I had more to contribute.  Maybe we will get more as the season gets started.

BleedPurple....You seem quite down on the outlook for Platteville.  I can only imagine what their fall camp would feel like wiht such a bleak look for the season and near future.  I suppose they are used to being in the bottom half of the WIAC, though they can get in a shootout and score with the best of them at times.

I wonder if they are the first WIAC program to recruit a female kicker?  She kicked for Waunakee High School, last year's DII state champion.

Maybe the Platteville football team should look to the women's golf team for some players:

The largest women's golf team in UW-Platteville history arrived on campus this week.

Congrats WIAC board!! we've managed to avoid talking about UWW for the entire page of 1362. We discussed, UWO, UWEC and UWL. Besides Mr. Ypsi talking about what UWW hasn't accomplished, UWW was never mention on the entire page. I didn't think we had that in us.  +K all around...

Maybe this turn of events will bring out somemore non-UWW WAIC posters out of the woodwork  ;D   ;)

How long do you think it will be before the UWW fans are lining up to complain that there's not enough UWW talk going on around here? !!  ;)

Let's see if I have this right...in '09 Zach Fry is the starting QB at D2 Minney-Moorhead; he decides to transfer to UWW, but quites before the end of the second week of camp -- is that right? That's a shocking turn of events. Anybody know what's going on with that?  ???

Why would you want large women on your golf team?  Hoops I can understand .....  ;D
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

He was probably looking to be the big fish in the little pond...I guess he under estimated the tallent at UWW and DIII

Just looking over their past few seasons, stats being what they are, that is not a high quality team -- in fact rather poor. They have a QB now that is listed as 6'3" 260 lbs -- which means he's probably 6' 1 1/2" 280. Fry must've really wanted out to give it a try at Whitewater -- what a shame...I hope he feels ok; he can still have a good year in the classroom.

He was probably fighting for the number 3 QB position. Cory Knapp looked pretty good at #2 and he has a year in the system under his belt. Knapp looks a lot like Donovan in his physical build-tall and lanky.

If some of the women's programs carry a larger number of athletes on their rosters it may help as far as Title IX is concerned.  I'm not saying that's the case in Platteville though I do know of situations in which that has been the case.  You have to balance out  a 100 athlete football roster. ;)

D-2 Minnesota schools are about equal to D3 Wisconsin schools.  If you recall the former annual border battle that was at the Metrodome until 2000.  Moorhead is definitely a lower tier.  I unfortunately love it when transfers do not pan out as it seems to me that is the easy way out of another situation.  Nothing wrong with transferring, but if it does not work out at a second school it is time to look at yourself.  Must be how I personally look at loyalty.

I don't think UW-Whitewater is below Minnesota St.-Moorhead at all. Agreeing with DBG here.

Especially Minnesota State-Moorhead. They have a putrid football program, and plenty of financial issues in the athletic department.

I certainly wasn't trying to be at all disparaging to UW-P! I was trying to take an objective look at what they bring back and how they may compete in the WIAC. As I mentioned, I think they could be competitive in most games and spring an upset or two. If I were on the coaching staff, I would paint an entirely different picture. From a coaching standpoint, if you are competitive in a game, you should win it.  They have no reason not to have high goals.  They should not enter this season with an ounce of pessimism. Everyone is 0-0!  I was just trying to project what I thought might occur given last season, what the Pioneers lost, and the fact they are competing in the very tough WIAC.  If they win three WIAC games, I have underestimated them and my hats off to them! For the record, I hope they go 6-1.  The truth is that for personal reasons, they are my second favorite WIAC school!
