...I hope the Titans put on a good show, but I can't see them winning in a shootout type of final score with the Raiders (in the 20's). Historically speaking, that's about as absurd a statement as can be uttered.

Not sure if UWO has it to win with a score in the 20's (I hope they do!)...but historically, that is what it will take. Below are the closest scores I found from MU in 08' and 09'. Outside of UWW, Capital put up 21 on them last year and Wheaton put up 24 on them in 08'. Looks like, historically, the best odds are if the offense puts up 20+ on them and defense hold them to 30-. Not saying I think UWO's O/D will do that...but that is the best chance I see them having.

I think it would have been more "absurd a statement as can be uttered" had I said UWO D will hold them to <2 tds and O will put up 3+ tds...but that's your call.  8-)

Was at the UWW game on Saturday, tailgating with my family.  Great game!!!  Zero points allowed, I loved it!  Go Warhawks!   Too bad the canon guy misfired his first attempted.  Let's that hope that doesn't give us bad "voo-doo".

They could always go back to the WSUC instead of WIAC.   :P

bleedpurple--you are not the only blogger from this board (maybe there are others I'm not aware of). I just began one. Thanks for your very good example.

On the pronunciation thing:  how can that be decided when there is no dictionary definition/pronunciation guide? What's the difference anyway?

Pat Coleman got into it a little bit on the MIAC board. (that would be my-ac, not mee-ac)

I posted that indeed WIAC was why-ac not we-ac. He said us wisconsonites need to come to a concensus on the thing, so I posted the poll.

Looks like a house divided. I still say we-ac is the teachers union. WEAC

Fred,
We've been talking about the schedule Oshkosh has with Central and Mount Union.   But I wanted to mention River Falls as well.  In addition to Ohio Northern (#11) the Falcons have scheduled St Thomas (#5) and Trine (#17).  Three opponents ranked in the top 20.  It doesn't look like O'Grady is dodging anyone in his farewell season.  The Falcons were competitive with ONU and it would be great if they could get a win in there.

In my humble opinion - it is WY-ACK. Isn't WEE-ACK the Wisconsin State Teachers Union???

Anyone got any insight on the Stout game?  I was shocked to read about it and get quite upset that they seemed to rely on the pass game.  Run game seemed non-existant.  I knew it would be a tough game against a quality non-D3 opponent, but cannot understand the lack of rush yardage.

You need to review the record of Black Hills State; they're not very good even by NAIA standards, unless you consider a team with a 6-4 record (the last two years) tough.  :-\   Stout losing to them is similar to River Falls losing to Northwestern of Minnesota a couple years ago -- should never happen!!  ;)

A team with a record above average (6-4) is a quality opponent in my book when they reside in that NAIA conference.  I think most people had this stout team overrated this year in the preseason.  They do not seem to have a strong offensive line.  They could not run and gave up way too many sacks with an average qb at the helm.  They maybe 5-5 or one game above or below that mark at seasons end.

I'm glad this was brought up. WEAC is the State Teachers' Union. WIAC (WHY'-ack) is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. No, there is no formal declaration anywhere, but it just makes sense.

Last year he ran out of gun powder and wasn't able to get the real stuff in time so he had to buy something he called "gun powder wanna be" to use.  He had some left over and wanted to get rid of it so he was using it Saturday.

I had BlueDevilBob's back on this one on the MIAC board, but won't repeat my smart aleck, wise acre, tongue-in-cheek reply that I posted there...  ;)

Must be nice to have such a high-scoring offense that the cannon guy runs out of powder.  ;)
