Well, I presume you know about the Badgers ...

I guess Whitewater is closest, then Beloit?   Carroll in Waukesha,  and more if you reach out further.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I logged onto warhawkfootball.com, and thought I was on the history channel.  Everything you always wanted to know about Dakota State University, but were afraid to ask!!  ;)   :D   ;D

Wow, this is going to be awesome! I think UWW is going to have to be my new "local team". It is less than an hour drive from where I will be living. The cool thing is going to be that there are enough schools close by to go watch a D3 game almost every week! Thanks BoBo for the heads up! +k

If you are also into basketball, you've got easy access to three different conferences. UWW and UWP of the WIAC and Beloit of the MWC are all short drives and Edgewood of the NathCon is right in Madison.  If you included Carthage in Kenosha (a little bit further) you could also count the CCIW.

Congrats to Matt McCulloch, making Week 1 team of the week  ;D

02 Warhawk, who gets the honors kicking FG's and PAT's this week for the Warhawks? Will we see both freshman make attempts? Can Guelff clear his head & be the kicker they thought he was going into last week?

they are probably working that out in practice this week. Looking how last week went, indications point to kindler getting the most opportunities. However, following the game it sounds like Lance still has confidence in Guelff...so i guess we'll have to see.

Looks like there'll be pleanty of opportunities for extra points this weekend  :P

Kid needs to make a few to get some confidence. He seems like a great teammate. I watched him on the sideline and despite missing the X points he was encouraging his teammates and keeping his head in the game instead of moping around on the bench.

BW--I agree that John O. has not been afraid to schedule tuff teams. Part of it was inability to get anybody to play us, esp. when we ran the wishbone (I still miss that offense!). In previous years we scheduled Chadron State, Neb., four  times, and traveled to Slippery Rock once, among others I have failed to remember not to forget. He was advised not to schedule St. John's a few years ago by the current head coach at Dubuque, a suggestion he obviously disregarded.

Wonder why he would be advised to do that...As a fan of the WIAC, i'm glad he went ahead and scheduled them, it'll be good for the program I believe.

No disrespect intended but I think the reason is relatively obvious.  He didn't think they could beat them.  Though I've never known "the current head coach at Dubuque" to shy away from playing someone.

At any rate we've been giving credit to Oshkosh for their scheduling and I just thought River Falls deserved some as well.  Good luck, though I don't think I'll pick them in the pickem I do hope RF wins.

I'm interested to see who does the kicking for the WARHAWKS as well.  I don't think they will want to use one to kick off and the other to kick the point after and/or field goals.  With limited traveling squad numbers I don't think we'd want to use one for an extra kicker and it wouldn't make any sense to do it one way at home and another way on the road.

Here is stoutguy (left) and his Western Wisconsin Sports Saturday co-host Jason Kenyon at Target Field last Saturday...

....probably shortly before they were escorted off the premesis by security.   ;D

Wow, it appears that they are standing on the field itself in the picture on the left.  That Jason Kenyon guy must know the right people. :D

St. John's would be too tuff to beat was indeed the reason for the advice, altho, I must admit, I did not hear that from either of the coaches involved, but from a
"source close to the coaching staff." Even if it's not true, it makes a good story!
