Great to see Osh and LX hang with a pair of top 10 D3 teams today....Would of loved to see a one of the two win today.

As far as the UWW game went today, i almost felt bad for S. Dakota St.. Just seeing them come out of the locker room, they were vastly undersized. Our offensive line had little trouble creating running lanes for Coppage, Anderson, Booker, Willy the Warhawk mascot, etc, etc etc. I think Coppage only played half of the first quarter and still had 100 yards and two TDs. For the second game in a row Blanchard had a beautiful touch on his deep ball, with extended TD passes to Brandes and Rusch. I think 6 different RBs had carries today, and three different QBs took the ball under center. I guess winning games like these are great for the second and third stringers, as they receive quality(?) playing time.

The defense gave little time for their QB to throw the ball today. it seems like he was running for his life in the backfield. However, SDSU did have some success in their three-step drops . They connected on a handful of quick slants, but other than that they had nothing going. The DBs were challenged a little bit more this week than last week. but still....tougher challenges lay ahead. On a side note South Dakota  did finish the day with negative rushing yards (taking into account of all the QB sacks.)

South Dakota State is a different school entirely. This was Dakota State.

I guess La Crosse and Stevens Point will have at least one things to talk about when they meet on the 23rd of November.  ;)

Congrats to former UW-Stout coach Ed Meierkort. His South Dakota team upset Minnesota 41-38 today.

I'm a big fan of watching Gopher embarassments. And they're so frequent!

Eau Claire pulls it out in OT vs the Johns 23-20.

Good day of football for myself. WW wins BIG, CLU takes care of business against Linfield so it shows they're not invincible come the post season, if they can take care of business against Willamette. And St. John's goes down to Eau Claire!

With both Willamette and Linfield losing today, their game on October 2nd may turn out to be a playoff elimination game when all is said and done.

And a great win for UW-EC. And UW-P and UW-Stout got victories as well! Had LaCrosse held on, the WIAC could have done some serious chest pounding!

Great officials over there in Wisconsin.

How original!!  ::)

I admit it's not original but I've always wondered how a team can go an entire game, plus overtime with 1 penalty.  The late hit called on SJU in the 4th quarter was an absolute joke.  It wouldn't have even been called in a pee-wee game.

Even last week the Johnnies were called for zero penalties...how is that even possible?

To quote a Linfield fan after they took a 28-7 lead over CLU in the second quarter: "Turn out the lights the party's over."

oooops  ;)

Fantastic news about UWEC!!! great day for the WIAC overall I must say.

BTW, did you listen or attend the game?  Voice made a shout out to you on the broadcast today. Had something to do with Booker and the comment your friend made last week. I guess it only took an extra week to show something!!  ;)

Just got back from watching the EC victory over St. Johns.  Great win for the WIAC!  The game score was stuck at 10-3 in favor of St. John's for much of the second half.  I kept thinking to myself that Eau Claire needed to put together a drive and score or else St John's was going to put the game out of reach.  However, St John's had enough mistakes on offense that they never were able to put that drive together in the 3rd or most of the 4th quarter.

Much credit to St John's for being able to take the ball, down 7 points with 2 minutes left on the clock, and scoring to tie the game with 5 seconds left on the clock.  Eau Claire's defense held St Johns to a field goal while EC's offense pounded the ball until they were able to score the winning TD in the first overtime.
