It's too bad this board doesn't allow for the creation of different threads to be created within each conference page.  It seems like there are five different conversations going on all at once.  My guess is this is detracting from having fruitful conversations and is ultimately driving people away from posting/reading.

Check out DII's board if you wanna see what I mean.  Each conference has a way to start a different thread about an area of interest having to do with that specific conference.

I enjoy the board, but...

Really?  Now we have to stay on topic???   I don't understand why multiple talk about multiple topics would actually drive people away from posting/reading but I am a woman.  I can multi-task.   ;) :D ;D

Exactly.  I posted about that a while back when I first came on.  This one thread that contains everything is difficult to navigate.  And it's difficult to find something that someone posted a week or two ago.  I'm getting a little more used to it and hang around because there are some good posters here, but it is the most cumbersome board I have seen.

You just get the opposite problem on other boards.  You get three or four different threads all having the same discussion, usually involving the same people, so nothing is in one location.  Pick your poison. I like this way better.

And, you are free to create new threads. Anyone can do it.  The only rule in the Terms and Conditions is you can't have a thread to talk just about one team.

You like what you're used to.  After being a huge HS sports fan for many years, I still think Wissports has the best forum setup ever.   Rarely did I see 3 or 4 different threads all having the same conversation.   But as I said....you like what you're used to and the regulars are used to this.

I frequented the NSIC one for a while and found it pretty good.  The topic lets you know if you wanna bother and yep, it's usually the same people.  Maybe we just don't have the interest and number of posters needed to support having different thread topics.

I can't think of why, other than it being a rule, you can't have a thread about one team, such as: "Outlook for UWEC '10-'11 Football."  Then posters would add opinions, ask questions, etc. on the Blugolds.  Another example, I'd like to start a thread on coach O'Grady.  I can imagine conversation would be about him and eventually veer into speculation about who may or should be interested in becoming the next RF coach.

Sorry to ask, but how do I create a thread within the WIAC forum only?

Hmmm....I can't seem to create a new thread in this forum.  I wonder if something is wrong with my setup or if I'm just an idiot when it comes to computers.....

I'm glad to see Whitewater is branching out to the Milwaukee (and Madison) market on its broadcasts. It's nice to be able to listen in on the game, without carrying my computer around the house now...

Call it obvious but could it also be due to recruiting of the area? I know while I coached at Bradley Tech last year there was a lot of interest by the Tech players in UWW due to the close proximity of the campus to the Milwaukee area. Personally, i'm suprised it wasn't already available in the Milwaukee area. Just my .02 cents.

can't disagree with you on that...

Was DE from UW-RF --Woody Fangmeier???

No, and it bugs me that I can't come up with his name.  6'4, 6'5, 270 or so...started at RF likely around '87 or so.

Arlin Frank.  He was a heck of a player.

what's the name of the OG that played around the same time about 6 ft 300lb  was it shulenburg or something like that.  Man I hated playing D aginst RF back then.  OL coming out in a 4 point stance. Playing D line sucked on those days.

I think that's why we quote previous posts...so people know what your posts are in reference too (stay on topic)...it's really not that hard to keep up with.

I don't believe you can start a new thread here within the WIAC board but you can on the West Region board:
http://www.d3boards.com/index.php?board=1473.0

Or on the General Football board here:

Go to the West Region page and there should be a button for "New Topic". If you don't see it, it might be that it's not visible until you reach X number of posts.

I've used Wissports for many years too. On Wissports, everytime Brett Favre blows his nose, there's instantly three threads in favor of it and five threads opposed to it. The setup is fine, but I don't see it as being remarkably superior to this one or any other.

You mean you would like to see all the posts about O'Grady in one thread...under WIAC where the logical place to find all things WIAC would be.   You would prefer this to scrolling through pages of conversations to pick out the O'Grady posts.  Hmmm.  Concise.  Logical.  Time saving.  Kind of like when I want to find a screwdriver, I go to the where the screwdrivers are kept.  OH MY.......you must be.....gasp!....A MAN!!!   :D

To the multi-tasking woman....I just couldn't resist...please take it in the spirit it was meant  ;D

But I do agree with Danimal.  A few more threads would be nice.  And I don't see why you can't have a thread on one team.  I was looking for a post on Stout ...had to scroll through umpteen pages before I gave up.  Tried the search function but must not have had the magic phrase to find the post.  Oh well.  Now if there had been a Stout thread....just maybe.....

Yep...but on the other hand...those of us who don't care about Brett Favre are forewarned and don't bother reading those.  Just as those of us who don't know about O'Grady may have skipped that conversation.
I guess its a moot point as this board is not going to change anyway.  And it's the only WIAC forum I can find right now, and the posters are knowledgeable, so I will continue to check in occasionally.
