I would suspect if UWW ever had a down year, wouldn't be too many tears from other teams either.  ::)

Now you're catching on, young grasshopper!!  :)

I'm glad you asked, Fan!

Thanks.  Very informative and well written, as usual.   And much appreciated.  And now that I understand the rivalry business.......you really enjoyed writing that, didn't you??? :D

You NEVER mention the fact that the WIAC has been labeled the toughest conference in DIII? I could have sworn that it comes up with great regularity. Maybe not as much as us telling you about Gagliardi being the winningest college coach in history, but possible a close second ;D

Plus I hear there's a program that has a streak of some point.

The schedule in the pickems is wrong in that Stout is AT RF, not the other way around.

Yes, actually I was going to entitle it: "UW-W sucks the life out of UW-L FOREVER!" but I thought the better of it!  ;D

I seriously doubt, however, anybody outside La Crosse is crying a river over the Eagles troubles. Even so, I'm leaning on picking them over Oshkosh in the pickems for no other reason than they have to snap out of it sooner or later...Oshkosh might be the right Rx.

Here's hoping you're wrong about LX over UWO!  :D

I don't know if I'm wrong or right, but I did go with UWL. And I'm not having second thoughts about it. If I'm right, I will pick up another game on the leader badgerwarhawk & look like a genius; if I'm wrong, I'm just proving myself to be the schmuck that I am!!  ;)  So, I can't lose either way.

I was just reading about Platteville's festive thursday night planned for the UWW game. One of the highlights of the evening is said to be the special pre-game music played on the best football field sound system in the WIAC.  ::)

This got me wondering: a) would people come to a game because of the special pre-game music [I'd much rather listen/watch a good marching band], and b) did an independent audio technician/engineer actually go around to all the WIAC football stadiums and complete a comprehensive sound analysis to prove definitively, and without a shadow of a doubt, that "The Ralph" has the best football field sound system in the WIAC? Or is this just a marketing ploy of the UWP Athletic Dept?  :-X   :-\  Is this something to really be proud of? [I think I've been watching too many Seinfeld re-runs lately] I beginning to think there's some funny business going on over there in Platteville.  ;)

I would much rather they promote the best streaming video from any stadium in the WIAC for those of us unable to join the festive night!!  ;)  Unfortunately, I'm going to have to settle on our superb radio team and live stats - so all is not lost.

Nice!!! i still remember AJ's hit on their QB...it was great seeing it again. what a beast he has, very fun to watch.

I believe UW-L's football program has never truly recovered from that hit. Their season was done after that play, and the program never truly re-established themselves as a WIAC power since that game (or hit)..IMHO

I forgot to mention that I happened to catch a nice little feature on ex Warhawk Baseball player and now Poker player (forgot his name - Senior moment humor here...) on ESPN last night in their World Series of Poker telecast. UWW got high billing. Hope some of you saw it. If not, they replay those things incessantly.

Eric Baldwin

Fortunately he didn't follow my advice and has been very successful on the Poker circuit.  He's been very generous by donating money to the baseball program which allowed us to install field lights.
