SCOUTING REPORT: UW-STOUT

www.uwwfootball.blogspot.com

Curious...does Stout have smallest starting OL in the WIAC? With the exception of one 300lber, averaging 255 lbs on the offensive line? I don't recall ever playing against WIAC OL that small.

I was just trying to get some banter about an actual game going.  The stats that I gave based on WIAC rankings were through 4 total games or roughly half the season for most WIAC teams.  We all know that the WIAC juggernaut named UWW is great and awesome and should be bowed to but not so long ago, I remember running the ball down their throats and winning some hard-nosed games against said team.
Preseason, this game seemed to be the one many UWW hopeful pointed to along with UWSP as the largest question mark, so i was curious what happened to that.
Excited to hear how UWS shows up as this is their first WIAC road game where they would have stayed over the night before a game.

When I saw them this year, they looked much smaller than the past including on the D-Line, however, there will not be 3 100 yard rushers this week for UWW.

We will make sure that whatever updates are available get to the scoreboard, 02.    Whatever happens at RF is difficult however because they don't have live stats or anything to keep things up to date.  I've forgotten whether they're at home or if the game is in LaCrosse.  But we'll get everything up we can.

The team recognizes Stout is a legitimate, physical, hard nosed opponent who presents the biggest challenge we've face to date.  I expect it will be one hell of a game.  I'm glad it's on our field.

It is good that it is a home game.  I understand that 3,300 tickets have already been pre-sold.   That is a pretty good number!   Weather forecast keeps getting better!  Forecast is now for 79 degrees.   Not bad at all! 8-)

Will UW-Stout be the Warhawk's toughest and only test for the regular season? :-\

I think it is fair to say this game, along with Point, are two of the bigger challenges on the schedule for UW-W this year. I also think Eau Claire could now be added to that list. Even Oshkosh with Wara could be added as well.

I picked UW-S second in the conference. I have to say I was pretty shocked at their loss to Black Hills State, but I really believe the UW-S coaching staff was working on some things (44 passes??) during that game.  I believe Stout to be the most physical team in the WIAC along with UWW. I know they will play hard. I respect them and I know for sure the UW-W coaches and players respect them.

As far as some of the subsequent posts, I think they may have been directed at your verbage:

"Are there any of the UWW fans on here thinking they may get knocked off this weekend against Stout?"

Really, there hasn't been any evidence presented by either team to lead us to think that way. It's not a matter of being bowed down to and it's not a matter of arrogance. It's a matter of being confident and having faith in the team we follow. Could UW-W lose? Of course. Do we expect them to? Of course not.

The only challenge for UWW is in December @ Salem when they play Mt. Union in a re-re-re-re-rematch

Maybe the flatlanders do not know the rematch is the second time a team plays in a row, but check YOUR math.....

Question for Mr. Coleman...

Is the new D3football.com website still being worked on, or is what we see the final product? I'm asking b/c on the old site we were able to look at each team's previous records over the past 10 years or so...I believe there were also links to view the box score for each of those games in the past.

As of right now, you can only go back a few years, and the box score links aren't available I believe.

I was just curious...thanks and keep up the good work.

Restoring previous years is still being worked on. I would think we'd be able to carry box scores over from the other site, so not sure why that hasn't happened yet.

What you see is basically the final product but the team pages continue to get worked on -- for example, just last week Presto got the links from team page to team page working. Also a bunch of old content that I am bringing over piecemeal -- 11 years' worth of news and columns.

I think he is right, WD.   ;)
05    Match-up
06   1st re-match
07   2nd re-match
08   3rd re-match
09   4th re-match
10   5th re-match if happens

How about that?  Did the math and I'm a flatlander.    :P
