Ill be up at 6am and on the road by 7am.  We are about 2 hours away from the Perk.  Tomorrow night im going to make some chili for the tailgate!  I hear it might be a low scoring game?  Is there any truth to that?

???  That ones got me scratching the few hairs I have left on my head, UDDB. I mean, afterall, college football isn't professional wrestling, roller derby, or a Harlem Globetrotter game. The outcome isn't known before it is played. Exactly how would anyone know the answer to those questions with any certainty? BTW, who told you it might be a low scoring game, P.T. Barnum?  ::)   ;)

Bobo, looks like it was a low scoring game after all.  16-7 going into the 4th quarter...  Im happy we put up another 14 points in the 4th though....This was our lowest scoring game of the season.   :) ;D

02 Warhawk, it was fun tailgating!  Smoked ribs on a Saturday afternoon!

A fiend asked me earlier in the season if it was a good thing that O'Grady announced his retirement at the beginning of the season, or wait until the end. My response was the announcement could have one of two effects. Motivate the team, such we are seeing right now with Michigan State, or deflate the team. After today's loss to La Crosse, it looks like it is the later.

RF didn't lose that much talent and actually should have gained ground this year because they played very young last year. Yet, if you see them in the game, it is in the first half. The second half has been usually down hill. So it looks like the team is already starting to hang up their cleats and waiting to see what will happen for next season.

What does everyone else think?
I stand by my quote earlier this season when I said they would go 0-7 based on past performances and the coach announcing retirement prior to season.  Without their stud RB, I see them really falling off towards the end of the year.

Any word on how badly Edwards is hurt? It would be awful if he's out for the year or any length of time for that matter.  I don't doubt the Faclons have some good backs behind him, but I'd feel really badly for Taylor.  :(

Not sure yet on Edwards status for Whitewater game, but I would say it isn't the players who gave up in the latest game.  I personally didn't like the play calling after they fell behind 21-14.  Up until that point rush/pass plays were 19/18.  Until there touchdown drive and recovered onside kick at it was overwhelming running plays called at 20rush-11pass.  The backup running backs ran well but coughed up the ball 3 times.

Excellent recap BoBo. One thing about Concepcion. His two runs consisted of one at the 2 yard line, where the Warhawks were playing Goal Line D. That is where I saw his hard and quick entry to the line. Not a surprise he didn't get much on that one. The other was almost a broken play where he ran into a blocker who was being pushed back into him on a slant play. I know it's hard to make a conclusive evaluation, but based on the one quick hitter, and his ability on returns, I would like to see more. It's also hard when you only get two carries to get any flow going.

I was sitting on the visitors' side and a guy next to me asked, "What division is this? So the references to casual fans being there may apply to more than just family and friends.

Did you tell them it was Divison 1 under wraps!  ;D ;D

As far as the RF-LAX game,  you cannot turn the ball over that many times and expect to win.  Also LAX played on a short field all day (example-opening kickoff returned to the RF 30) .  Plus a snap on a punt sailed thru the endzone then the kickoff was a bad punt .  It all adds up.  It seemed like it was going to be an even game but with mistakes it quickly turned to a one-sided affair.

Like Bret Bielema's two-point conversion chart he consults in his decision making, do you use a rating chart when giving your Warhawk grades? If so, what criteria do you use to decide between "spectacular" and "solid" and/or "solid" and "needs work?" Do you carry it in your back pocket on game day like Bielema? Just wondering!!  ;)

No, I choose to use my own brain so common sense can enter into the equation!

On the other hand, NOTE TO BREWSTER:

The "other" 40 points hurt you way more than the 41st.

Speaking of the "2 pt Conversion Chart", I checked 4 different websites (hardly exhaustive) and all 4 of them only went up to 20.  ;D

THIS ONE goes up to 30 points.

It's so complicated, that a coach like Bielema would have to call 2 consecutive time outs (and hope your opponent calls one too) just to have enough time to figure the blasted thing out...

...well, maybe not, I just did it.

Just Bill

I don't think there's any sillier item in all of sports than "The Chart".  Coaches with egos larger than Alaska who pretend that they are the reincarnation of Lombardi himself, act as if they are completely powerless to defy the inherent wisdom of "The Chart". If I walked into the Church of Football, I'm positive "The Chart" would be sitting on the altar.  Can't anyone do math anymore?  :D

Wondering if any of you would know the answer, or where to find it.  What are the rules for medical redshirt?  Is there a certain time limit when a player becomes ineligible?  For instance, a player would injure himself this last game and the season is half over, are they still eligible?  No reason...just curious.
