Good to see the Journal Sentinal is double checking its stories before publishing.  ::)

This sort of stuff happens all the time to DIII in the news....it's a shame.

YES! YES! YES!  It has finally happened!   ;D

Welcome to continued success/dominance my UWW friends!

As I have been reading the WIAC board, it was deja vu all over again.  This almost exact conversations have been going on over on the OAC board for almost the last 12 years.  It's the "Yankee syndrome" for sure.

A poster mentioned earlier that these things go in cycles, and UWW will some day sink back down to the same level as the rest of the WIAC, and some other conference program will rise up to take their place.  The problem with that proposed scenario is the following.

1.  UWW would have to lose their coach, and not replace him with a qualified, dynamic successor

2.  UWW would have to actually LOSE a few conference games, possibly NOT make the play-offs, and/or lose early in the play-offs.  Success draws kids to the program.

3.  UWW would have to lose their enthusiastic alumni/donors.  Mount was able to get their field turf back about 10 years ago based solely on one former alumn's specific donation when he passed away.

Point of this post.......I don't see things changing any time soon in the WIAC.  And trust me, as a Mount fan I am TIRED of seeing those damn Warkhawks!   ;)

bobo...I could really care less what you, or anyone else says on here. Reading this stuff is merely a time waster for me.
You and I are two of the older posters, and I just mentioned I thought some of your comments were unnecessary. I was raised that it is poor sportsmanship to disparage your opponents, and I still feel that way. You obviously weren't, so say what you wish.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Forgive me, I don't see the error.

Like I said last week, no other team will make playoffs besides UWW.  This does take away from the rest of the conference since UWW has played an extra 3 seasons in the past 5 years including this post season based on extra practices.  Biggest factor against rest of WIAC trying to unseed UWW.  I thought I saw the future when I mentioned RF will go winless prior to conference play, that looks to be one more game away from a lock.  Still cannot believe the comment about Minnesota having bad recruits and that is why RF is bad.  This must be why ILL and NW are so good recruiting Chicago.  Schools, money, programs are some of the strongest recruiting tools.  Glad to see Stout took it to Eau Claire.  My experience has EC always being too arrogant in what they really are, another school in NW Wisconsin.  Sorry for the rant, but with Badgers W and last night's game, been preoccupied outside of D3.

From cheeseland.....Tommies suck.....SJU 27  UST 10

We have a proverb in Korea that goes (no Hangul this time) "The dung-stained dog reproaches the chaff-stained dog." Or in other words (using your quote above or the 100's more in your inventory, for example), (thanks for being) the pot calling the kettle black!! Don't even for a second suggest you can make personality judgements on people you have never met and will never meet over a statement as benign as saying a team played soft defense. If you were a commentator/analyst on ESPN, NBC, CBS, ABC or any major network, saying "Tommies suck," you'd be fired within 24 hours; my statement wouldn't even get noticed. GET REAL!! Go listen to some of the stuff being said in Oakland or Denver today or on blackheartgoldpants.com, an Iowa Hawkeye blog and message board to find out the definition of poor sportsmanship or disparage. You obviously have no clue.

I apologize to the WIAC Board for rambling on about this. This shouldn't have been in issue in the first place, IMO. But, some posters find it necessary to continue to waste their time by wasting everyone elses, too. And quite frankly, at 68 years young, I don't have much time left in my life to waste. BoBo out...

Hi guys. Yes, my last name is Prindl, so if you remember me thats awesome. I was not THAT memorable as a skinny guard compared to the others I played with.

Kris, is that you?

I did not take the time to read the million posts prior to these pages but I have been curious the last few years about what happened at UWW after I left. The Hawks were always a pretty good team under Coach Berezzy. A few years later they got pretty bad. And then they got a series against Mt. Union and something changed. The program woke up. They became a true power. The emulated Mt Union. We had great talent before so it wasn't really better athletes. We had wonderful facilities so that didn't change. What happened that so profoundly changed Warhawk football? From the outside I can't see it.

Interesting note I have, in 1987 I was a freshman redshirt at UW-RF recruited by coach Foley to an amazing wishbone offense that had 2 all americans in the backfield, and one interesting guy named Steve Dinkel as a guard that was not always a nice guy to be around. I had a full year there, and that school was a lot of fun.  I had to join the Army, and came back to football at UWW. Its nice to see Dinkel at UWW now as well......

BoBo- just so you know the "Tommies Suck" is a mantra some of the SJU posters use-not to be taken too seriously. I would suggest that Flash was not saying the Tommies really suck , but just using that phrase as a way to show support for SJU and in the spirit of rivalry.
By the way, I am looking forward to driving up from Illinois to see your Warhawks in playoff game-maybe against the same despised Tommies.

Some like to point to the fact that Berezowitz scheduled such teams as Mount Union, St. Johns, and some NAIA powerhouses...just so the UWW program could take a first-hand look at what it took to be a national power. You aren't the first ex-player to come on here and say the talent level of the players haven't changed much...that they were the same as previous years.

It's tough to narrow it down to one or two things on why whitewater turned the corner. It's probably b/c of combination of better recruiting, better coaching and scheduling tougher non-conference opponents.

While this was not directed at me, I will take it as constructive criticism as well.  Perhaps, I should not have used the word "dominated" in a post and just said that the offensive line played well and the running back did a good job.   I really am not directing my posts as an insult towards any other poster or actually toward a team.   I am reporting my observations of what occurred.  I will try to be more sensitive in the future.

Going to have to go back and look, but I thought the poster said that the recruits looked good, at least that is what mine said, if not I am going to modify it.

Hope alot of these young minnesota players from UWRF stay at UWRF in the coming years!  Seems they have a few decent young players in Adams, Mandoza, Bjorkland, Mehan, Brandt, and Udeh to name those listed in the recap! Things will get better there for sure!

Not to interpret for the original poster, but as I read this post, I believe Assassin is saying that he wants the recruits to (not transfer) stay at RF because they are going to get better and help improve the program.  He concludes by saying, "Things will get better there for sure".   So I think this was meant as a compliment not an insult.
