My flight to New York leaves in about 8 hours. Because of the magic of time-zones, I arrive at JFK 1 hour after I take off here.  ;D  Looking forward to a splendid weekend in/around West Point, a place where I consider the greatest college football game day experience. Looks like rain Thursday-Friday PM. But the Cadet parade, tailgate, and Michie Stadium should be looking good on saturday with sunshine and in the mid 40's - about the same as it is here today!! BTW, possibly Army's best offensive player, at least the last 3 weeks, is a Wisconsin young man, Jared Hassin, from Kettle Moraine H.S. A 6'3" 235lbs. fullback in the Army triple option, he's their leading rusher and has 3 consecutive 100 yard games. He first went to Air Force, but transferred to West Point after one week in Colorado Springs. It will be interesting if he receives any "brotherly love" from his former mates in blue.  ;)

Go Army! Beat the Zoomies!!

(good luck to the Warhawks, too!!)

So if UWW and St. Thomas both win out, who gets the number 1 seed?  Any reason to think UWW will not?

No, i have a feeling things will work themselves out. like d-train said...they both can get a #1 (North and West)

So if UWW and St. Thomas both win out, who gets the number 1 seed?

Maybe they both get a 'named bracket' (aka #1 seed)?

My prediction is that the #1 seeds will be UWW, Mt. Union, Wesley (or UMHB, if Wesley stumbles), with the fourth currently a toss-up between the Wheaton/NCC winner and St. Thomas.  How they decide that fourth #1 determines whether UWW is 'north' or 'west', IMO.

Agree, IMHO it could be:

North- UWW
South- Wesley
East- Mount Union
West - St. Thomas

North Central and Mary Hardin Baylor could influence this however! :)

they usually do good up until they reach UWW or UMU, but I guess you can say that for most teams though in the playoffs.

But I understand where you're coming from though.  8-)

Thats Funny! I saw the Wesley game in the snow a couple years ago. Talk about just kicking the snot of of them......

Interesting so in your scenario both UWW and UMU move versus what the folks on the CCIW Board are thinking which would be

North - North Central or Wheaton
South - Wesley
East - Mount Union
West - UWW

Don't you think the NCAA will try to keep UWW and UMU from playing until the final?  I think until they are beaten, it is hard to not have them line up that way.

WarhawkDad,

Good question on the # 1 seeds and would the NCAA want UWW vs. Mount Union again:

1. In 2009 UWW (North) played the West winner ( Linfield) I believe and
Mount Union (East) played Wesley ( South)

2. My guess is that UWW will be the #1 seed overall in the playoffs.

3. If and a (big) if, UWW moved to the North and Mount to the East, then
it could happen that UWW could play the Raiders at UWW if they both
    won their regions.

4. IMHO they will probably have UWW and Mount Union in regions where
they meet only in the Title game, since they are perceived to be the #1
     and #2 teams (Polls).

5.  Neither UWW or Mount Union would want to play each
before the title game, but the NCAA makes that call, assuming that each
     win their region! :)

A conspiracy theorist might think the committee will put them on the same side of the bracket to guarantee a different Stagg Bowl matchup for ESPN exposure.

I know that DIII does not get enough attention from the media to make it a big deal, but it would be hard for anyone to argue that it does not make sense financially and competition wise to have UWW and UMU in opposite brackets leading to the final.  If something happens along the way, so be it, but I personally would love to see both purple teams in the finals again, tailgating and enjoying each others company until the game starts.   The only thing I would like to see different is the weather traveling to Salem!   ;D

I would say that the two programs know that unless they meet in the title game, an earlier matchup would likely produce a title game that truly isn't the two best teams in the land.

IF they all stay unbeaten and make it through all of the others that would stand in their way of course. No assumptions yet, but its indeed the prevailing wind.
