Has anyone mentioned that we at UW-W do not like LaCrosse?

A look at the rivalry through the lense of history.

Nice one bleed...is it safe to say Roger Harring hasn't been invited to the birthday party at Esker Hall?  ;) :-X

The playoff projection by D3football.com is out. FWIW, I know it is difficult to put together, and I appreciate their effort. With that said, IMHO, it looks a bit unbalanced between the two sides of the bracket. It'll be interesting how close it comes to the actual bracket.

But, before we consider that, we still have to finish off the business that is UW-La Crosse first. Get the job done and then we can have the chips fall where they may. And take things 1 game at a time. ;)

Who?  ;D

Didn't see any projections on the blog this week, bp!! Do you plan on doing it today?

Let me ask you a theoretical question - remember last week when the Warhawks took a knee 4 straight times when they had a 1st and goal at the Oshkosh 3 with about 3 min remaining in the game? If a similar situation repeats this week, would/could/should UWW take a knee 4 straight times to end the game? Or would/could/should they try to punch it in for another score (it is La Crosse after all)?

I have  dilemma. I work at the University Library from 9-1, so I'll miss the very beginning of the game anyways but the question is: it looks like it will be raining during it/possibly evening snowing later, so should I go and get wet? Hmmmm  ???

Haha, I'm thinking of just saying "screw it" and going, and make sure I don't miss a home game in the 5 years I've been here (though I made up for missing a home game last year by going up to LaCrosse for that game).  :P

Here's my take on your theoretical question: YES! UW-W would, should, and will punch it in for another score.  Simply because it is LaCrosse?  YES!

KABOOM!

I was feeling bad that I was having to miss the Stout - Oshy game here today as I travel to watch my son's hockey game, but not now.

I don't know what the weather is like anywhere else in Wiscy, but the games in Menomonie and Eau Claire are going to be a wet, cold mess.  :P

I don't go to rainy athletic events unless I'm getting paid or a blood relative has a chance to win at least a state title.

All the talk on here about the sixth Stagg Bowl meeting of UMU and UWW has me wondering. Will the odds finally catch up to one or both of these teams. The field looks to be deeper this year than in past years. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the two lose as early as the quarter finals. It would be an upset, to be sure, but the quality of the field, UST, NCC, Linfield, the three IIAC teams, and even Betheel could pull it off, IMHO. Time will tell, but it appears that, despite the weak disclaimers, some chickens are being counted.

I don't know retagent...those teams you lists will probably play and beat each other before they even get a chance to play Whitewater. Since they're all west/1 north team, none will play Mount until at least the semi's. So, you must be saying one of them could pose a challenge to UWW somewhere along the line? I'm sure it's mathimatically possible. And UWW will have to not only have a rare off day, the opponent would have to be flawless, IMO, to have a chance. So, of course someone could hypothetically upset Whitewater. But, let's not get carried away, 3 IIAC teams are not going to make the playoffs, anyway. And who is this Betheel you speak of?  ;) There are probably some pretty good teams out there everywhere (and there have been every playoff season over the past 5 years), but a win vs Mount or UWW, and on the road, will be a major upset.

I don't disagree. The teams I mentioned are teams I have some knowledge of. My venturing into the South or East Regions would be treacherous.

Obviously, some of these teams will meet in the earlier rounds, but, I don't know who will emerge.  If one does upset UWW, or UMU (NCC is the only one I can name) it's possible that neither UWW or UMU would make it to the finale. Unlikely for sure, but as I said, Old Man Odds might lift his ugly head this year.

Snowy, windy day at Clemons Stadium, but Johnnies take their first possession in for a TD. 7 - 0 early.

Johnnies up on Hapless Hamline 35 - 0 at half in the blizzard. Almost 400 yards total offense. Can we rewind the season?
