I hope we wear our purple with black pants.   Love that combination 8-)

Black on black is my favorite (minus the names on the backs)...although I think I'm in the minority on that combo. I think it creates an indimitdating aura about the team. Coming out of the locker room they look like they want to hurt someone.  8-)

Yep, I like that one too.....especially since that is what they wore in last year's Stagg Bowl.

I like the look too but I know Voice and his radio partner aren't too keen on it.  Reading the numbers on those jerseys is a bit of a problem.

As always, I am interested in the war in the trenches.   In looking at the Franklin Roster, it does not appear that they have alot of size on either the offensive or defensive side of the ball.  They do not have a 2 deep so you can look at size of starters.   But an illustration might be that on the national statistics, UWW was 3rd in the nation in sacks allowed - .3 per game, while Franklin was 43rd in the nation in getting sacks 2.5 per game.   Conversely, UWW was 13th in the nation in getting sacks - 3.2 per game, while Franklin was 98th in sacks allowed - 1.7 per game.

Just for discussions sack.....em, I meant sake.    ;D

In my opinion, the greatest advantage UW-W has in most every game is along the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.  Line play may be the greatest point of difference between the great D3 teams and the good ones.  I think that's been the key to the consistency the program has shown over the past 6 years.  Superior line play will win games.  It also seems, like defense in basketball, good offensive and defensive lines can be counted on from game to game.  A quarterback, running back, or receiver may run hot or cold, but if the line is winning the battle you've got a great chance to win.

A great example of that is if you take a look at the 3rd quarter. By then our O-line has their defense worn down to nothing. Whitewater is outscoring its opponents 144-21 in the 3rd quarter alone. some teams can hang around for a quarter or two, but by the time the second half rolls around there's no more gas in the tank...we break the other team's will it seems like. I guess that's why 4 of 5 O-linemen are somewhere on the all WIAC list this year.

Keep pounding it!

Voice, the answer is 15, 604 yards and counting.  :D

And if you were to ask any of them how they were able to gain so many yards rushing they would all say they had great offensive lines in front of them.

The question is what is the combined rushing yardage of Chad Wurth, Justin Beaver and Lavell Coppage

So they wore black on black in both Stagg Bowls that they won?   Coincidence?   I think not.............. ;D

I agree, 02, always been my favorite!  The combo makes them look bad-a$$!

I guess he's only a freshman, so his day will come...but watching him play, it was easy to see there wasn't an offensive tackle who could consistently block him during the conference season...in fact, after 2 steps, he was usually past the guy responsible for him.

I love how his speed enables the defense to mix it up.  They are even dropping him into pass coverage when certain blitzes are called.  Great flexbility and totally messes up blocking schemes.
That is what Brian always said about A.J.  He could line up in a 3 point stance, show blitz and back out at times, play it straight up, offenses never knew and it allowed the D great flexibility and unpredictability. Glad to see somethings don't change.  And someone else who I have been impressed with is DB Matt McCulloch, and he is only a sophomore.  DEFENSE wins championships!

Not a real big fan of black over purple, but that purple over black is kind of a rare treat, as they don't trot it out too often.

I was looking at the Franklin roster and games stats - they appear to be a bit smallish.  225/275/225 up front, LBs 210/220.  I sense a game plan that includes that phrase "pound the rock".
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I prefer the pure black ones, when it gets cold they might be able to attract more sun and heat too.  :P
