How 'bout we change gears for a moment and listen to the greenisms of Bob Green, retiring after 24 years as coach of Montana Tech.

QuoteIn my opinion, the greatest advantage UW-W has in most every game is

does the other team have anybody who can catch Coppage in an open field?

Are you referring to Franklin??? then you may want to post that question on the Heartland Conference board.

But I'm guessing the answer is "No"

who is faster Beaver or Coppage?

As far as a one-on-one foot race.....I'll give the edge to Coppage

nope, not a running back, and I would be worried about the beating he would take if he ran out of the backfield all the time.   Beyond that he is an outstanding athlete and could very well follow in the footsteps of Pierre Garcon.

Hilarious.  :D  His retirement announcement mentions his "greenisms" and his record of 140, 116 and 1 tie.

Speaking of Cecil Shorts, I would like to propose a hypothetical question.   Troney Shumpert covered Shorts in both the 08 and 09 Championship game.   I am guessing that Matt McCullough would draw that assignment if both teams successfully return to Salem.   Any thoughts on that match-up?   Matt seems to play positionally more consistent, takes less risk, and has been matched up with every teams #1 receiver.  Thoughts?

Shorts is in a totally different league than what any UWW db has seen this season (Including UWSP's WRs). It won't be easy if that day comes. Troney had a tough time in both the 08 game and (early on in) the 09 game with Shorts. In the second half Troney did a much better job containing him I thought in 2009.

However, going back to 2007 I thought nobody will be able to keep up with Garcon, but Blaziewske, Schultz, Murray and Farley were able to hold him to just 4 catches for 30 yards and no TDs in that Stagg Bowl. But our DBs then were more experienced and had more depth compared to this team. McCullough definelty has the size to compete with Shorts, but the speed is another thing.

Seems like this game saturday will be a good test for the UWW DBs.

Not just Franklin, no, I was thinking about everybody in the playoffs WW might meet.

OK, UMUMUC's, who wins goal post to goal post, Garcon or Shorts?

It was already raced.......Shorts won.

There is not any single DB that can cover Shorts.  I think if we get there, UWW will attempt to do what they did to Garcon in '07.  Change up the coverage....help over the top...and put massive pressure on the QB so he doesn't have time to find Shorts.
