Franklin beat Baldwin Wallace in 2008 and 2009 as well as as ringing up 62 on #9 Otterbein in the playoffs in 2008.  FC beat NCC 45-34 (maybe 36) in 2008 and lost on last second play in 2007 to NCC.  That said I think NCC will beat UWW.  NCC brings a much stouter defense, one that I think can keep Coppage honest.  With a couple big plays extracted, FC did a decent job on the guy themselves. FC held their own on the line with UWW and the game wasnt really broken open until the 4th (same for Trine).  NCC is better on both sides of the line IMO and that will be the difference.  Just my opinion.  Game close either way.
Don't believe a word that the Griz says for he knows nothing about North Central football.  NCC has actually never played against FC.  NCC was actually playing Benedictine in the playoffs in 2007 and 2008.  Also, Griz probably did not travel up to the Perk to see the UWW v. FC game this year as FC does not travel well.  Their fans usually stay at home.  Don't believe the Griz for he has absolutely no basis for making such outlandish assertions!!  There is absolutely no way NCC can defeat UWW.  No way at all.  ;D
We used to call this a PhD response - piled high and deep!  ;)  Time to get out the hip-waders.

I got mine out three weeks ago and have had them on ever since!   :o  It has been fun reading through all of the posts on the WIAC and CCIW boards though.  Clearly, the UWW and NCC fans are quite passionate.  This is what makes college football America's sport -- IMO.

So you are wearing hip-waders even as YOU add to the need for them. Interesting approach!  ;D

Once again I apologize to the board for subjecting it to sarcastic posts by indicating NCC played Benedictine.  In so doing, I stripped them of one of the crowning moments of their post-season history: A win against the MWC's St. Norbert Knights.  I wish I could have been there to see them storm the field.

Congratulations NCC and all of her backers!  How could I have disputed the notion that NCC is now at equal status to the two teams that have gone to 5 consecutive Stagg Bowls?  Please forgive me.  I know you will make Dr. Joy proud on Saturday!

I understand that he was making a joke. However, it is my view that the D3 Student-Athletes should be not the target the jokes or personal criticism. We can discuss D3 football - upcoming games and past games without resorting to to making fun of players, their names, or their nicknames. Nick has probably heard this before so he likely would not be offended.

T_Unit, based on his email, appears to be UWW. Again, in my view, his post straddles the line for the Internet policy that UWW must comply.

Gator-
The Kukoc from Unit was a joke- based on the former Bulls player (Croatia?), I'm sure he meant no disrespect to the running back.

Holy hyper-sensitive, Batman!

Does this mean no more Cecil in the Shorts references, too?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

There are worse things to be compared to than Toni Kukoc.

Bp, there you go again. I haven't seen anyone, except you, say they think NCC is on an equal level as the past 5 stagg reps. Can you show me?

Greetings from Bartlett, IL (about 20 minutes North of North Central College).  All week long I've been tuning into Tom Skilling's weather forecast and Saturday is beginning to shape up to a true December football game.  Here is the current forecast for Saturday in Naperville.

Hi: 33 degrees
Occasional snow, cold. Mixed ice pellets? The season's first accumulation possible -- but amounts should be modest. Snow may pick up at times at night as lake moisture becomes involved and winds strengthen.

Soooo, I go to bed and you boys talk about me!  LOL  Maybe I should be the one to apologize for instigating the, "disrespect," card the last few days but you got to admit, it has been fun!  ;) Problem is, it mostly pulled Usee into it and he was never an offender as I mentioned in my regular post.  And in my defense, that card was actually played originally by the selection committee.  Like I said before, I get a little overly protective of my WARHAWK DEFENSE.  But also to be fair, Usee, it was more than just some posters picking NCC and the ramblings of 70's (although I did let him get under my skin,) there were direct references to our points allowed total and the fact that our back up QB was not the problem, etc.  Not like we were just reacting to a pick em's board.   ::) But those guys didn't come in here to challenge us.  NCC is a great program and has risen to the top of the CCIW in recent years and that is NO easy task.  I have NO doubt that we will have our hands full on Saturday and IF we come away with the win and move on, we will have our hands full again the next week.  Everyone is a contender in December and we know that better than anyone!  My rule of thumb usually is that I can take a breath when we get 2 TD's ahead with the exception of the Raiders, but I admit, I will be adding NCC to that list.  I expect a close game.  Hope my heart can take it.

IL Gator,
I am sorry but you do really need to lighten up.  14's main purpose was to give a shout out to the young man for being a very good RB!  The joke was hardly the main purpose of his comment.  When my son, a redheaded LB, was in the Riders CFL camp in 08 along with Jerrell Freeman who played LB for UMHB against him, Jerrell told him that the Crusaders had a special play called the, "Ginger Package."  (A South Park reference for all you old guys, They call redheads, "Gingers," because they have no souls.)    ;D Trust me, he felt NO disrespect!!!! ;) ;D

Too bad for them it never worked!!  ;)

I thought the "Ginger Package" was a reference to Gilligan's Island.

Gotta love the selective stats and selective comparisons. On the one hand it was Franklins 1st game and on the other hand NCC's early game is an "indicator". Whatever makes you feel good and helps pass the time. I'll say this (which is a stsatement about ncc and not a comparison to uww)the CCIW is a tough conference. This is the second time a team has  made it to the playoffs undefeated in the last 14 yrs. And you have to go back to Augie in the 80s to find a team tat has run the cciw slate by beating every team by at least 20. Wheaton this year, which we have seen is a very good team and quite comparable to teams in the west bracket, is your typical cciw team. Several close games through conference play, a few come from behind V's, solid defense, etc.  That's the team most would expect from the cciw. NCC is a level above that. We don't know if its UWW/UMU level, but its probably pretty close in my view. We get to find out Saturday.

That's it exactly....what else are we suppose to talk about between now and saturday?  :)

This from D3 football Facebook page:

Going over the list of D3football.com All-Region nominees. Sent out an email to every conference office for follow-up with schools that have yet to nominate their players. Very short at the following spots: West Region defensive tackles and guards, North Region DTs, East Region Gs and Ts.

WIAC, please nominate Wes Hicks and Luke Hibner  :)
