At the beginning of the season, did anybody have nightmares over the kicking game? And what it might do to us during the playoffs?

Nice to have Kindler giving me many sleepful nights (except game nites) as the season moves on!!  ;)

He did a great job. For a freshman to come back from adversity like that is awesome. Kicking is so mental (not in the "retard" sense  ;D).  As the season has progressed, you could almost see Kindler's confidence growing.

I know the relatively close scores has caused posters from around D3 to question UW-W a bit.  As I continue to process all this, I think this is a big mistake.  First of all, I am going to give a shoutout to Franklin and Trine.  They are not weak teams. I believe they are both very legit Top 25 and Trine may be a legit Top 12.  I think the overall quality of football in D3 is excellent and rising.

It seems like the people who find great "hope" in the UW-W scores is our next opponent.  Seems like Trine was encouraged that Franklin hung with us for a half.  NCC was encouraged that Trine hung with us for 3 quarters.  Now Wesley supporters will pick apart the stats and rationalize why UW-W isn't really all that good. Until they play us.  Those of you doubting UW-W had better look very closely at one statistic.  48-0.  That is the combined score of UW-W fourth quarters. So against three Top 25 playoff teams, the score at the end of 3 quarters (the three fourth quarters), UW-W leads 48-0.

I know an NCC poster liked to tease me for pointing out selective statistics. But this is a pretty important one.   ;)

Great game yet again, Whitewater. Congratulations - Your program year after year just reloads, very impressive.

Thanks BoBo and dallas for the link to the game today.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. This is amazing.

This is just speculating (I don't know the depth charts of any team well enough, nor do the box scores show number of plays for players, so I can't state this with any certainty) but I think it has to do with the depth of talent at UWW (and UMU) vs. the second tier.  On the 52-man playoff rosters, NCC (and other near-top teams) may be able to match up man-for-man through the first 30, 35, perhaps even 40 players, but suffer too much of a drop off after that to risk as much subbng as the top two can afford.  By the fourth quarter, your depth allows you to grind down the opposition.

Again, just my speculation, but it seems to make sense (to me, at least ;)).

Any idea what time the game will be next week?  I'm glad the NCAA will be carrying the video stream.  I'm pretty sure we will not have to worry about their server being at capacity like we had today.  Frustrating to say the least.

Noon east coast time...I watched the Wesley game today and the video out of Dover was a 100% improvement over what I and you didn't see out of North Central. It wasn't as good as the UWW TV production, but it was watchable and didn't have any buffering problems.

Thanks -- that was a video production we put together for Wesley because they don't have video at home. Dallas is right that the NCAA steps in at this point and handles production.

Wow.  96, you're a real xxxxxx.

Really??? :D

You created a new account as "ncc1seed" AFTER you lost as the 1 seed in the quarterfinals. Hilarious.

If you clicked on it you'd see the account was created Nov. 15. (Can you guys see those things or do only I get to?)

I thought the game today was a good, clean, hard hitting game. The refs let the players play without getting redicolous with the flags as they should with a game of this magnatude. I didn't see too much extra-curricular activity.
As has been posted, we are reloading each year and have been getting deeper with the talent on our roster. I am confident that we will meet again very soon. We are closing that gap.
By the way, I guess it is hell being on the road for you guys. I just got home from our tailgate. That makes it official that we won that contest anyways! ;D
I hope everyone made it home safely.
Again, good luck with the next two!

Congrats to the Warhawks. These two teams were very physical and fast. 3 second half turnovers by NCC is the whole story. 2 of those were simply great plays by the UWW defense (arguably all 3). The 1st INT the LB Long got his had on the pass to Fiedorowicz and knocked it up in the air to be picked by McCollum. The INT by Hibneer you will see maybe 1 or 2 times ever. Stanek is throwing a hitch route and Hibner gets his hand in the passing lane and pops it up to himself. The UWW DLine is big and impressive. I thought NCC Defense lived up to its billing. giving up 253 yds total and only 140 yds rushing on 40 attempts (3.5 yds per rush). Coppage had 29 carries for 117 yds (4.0 yds per carry, well below his 6.5 ypc avg). Very impressive for NCC to take the ball from their own 4 yd line in the 3rd quarter and drive the length of the field to get the FG and the lead. UWW gets the big turnover and converts and then NCC had to play catch up.

Overall stats favored NCC but UWW got what they needed. I would mark UWW as the favorite the rest of the way. 3 very different battles for them in the playoffs and they passed each time. They can beat you in many different ways.

Wesley gets to put their money where their mouth is this week. Good luck.

Great game to watch!

true, but NCC has only been giving up 1.99 yards per carry (62.08 per game) leading up to this game...so 140 yards was well ABOVE their avarage today.... ;)

Plus, the o-line gave up zero sacks today, well below NCC's average of 3.75 per contest.

The NCC defense did keep us out of the end zone after two of those turnovers which could've blown the game open, but instead kept the Cardinals within striking distance.

Big congrats to the Warhawks. Now take it to Wesley next week. Sorry you have to travel, but you've shown that you can handle anything.
