Everyone is talking statistics, playing conditions, etc.   But after one more thorough look, I actually believe that the D3football staff has hit the nail on the head.  The turnover/takeaway issue appears to be huge.  UWW is 3rd in the nation in takeaway margin.  Wesley is 133rd. They have put the ball on the ground 17 times this season and given up 13 interceptions, for 30 total turnovers.   UWW conversely does not give up the ball at that rate with only 9 turnovers all season.  This includes playing against NCC.

So nice job to the D3football guys on the frontpage article today.

Plus it's rare to play a team that gets flagged for MORE penalties than UWW..that's hard to do  :o

Wesley is 233rd in the country in penalty yards per game (out of 236). UWW is 126th

It sounds like Wesley has had enough talent to win despite their mistakes in previous games...I think that is going to be harder to do against the Warhawks

Answer the poll question!

What "has to happen" for UW-W to win Saturday?

www.uwwfootball.com

I needed a choice that read "all of the above."    :D

How about ... "Score the most points!"

That may have been a bit redundant given that IS the definition of winning!

Where is "Wesley must self destrict"  :D :D :D

Not listed because Wesley could very well play their best game of the season and still lose.  ;)

Almost all of those things happen against NCC, and it was still a close game. but I agree, if coppage can get 150....we'll be sitting pretty  8-)

I think coach Borland put it best in the article D3football.com posted on it's front page:

"When the game gets on the line and teams get nervous, we're able to play hard and fast. We do play that way, and I think sometimes you make your own breaks," Borland said. "You make people rush, you make people panic. You make people do things that are maybe out of character for them."

This is probably what happened to Trine and NCC late in the game.

Quincy Daniels had 156 yards vs. Wesley last week. He is sitting pretty... at home this week.

Totally!  That is why that choice was never going to be my pick, not playing against this level of competition!  Now, if Coppage gets 150 AND Rusch/Brandis get 150.............. now your talking!  ;)
