So based upon those names, who in your opinions should be the front runner?

Yeah, you'd think Kehres would be in line for a more high profile position...unless this is some kind of ploy to raise River Falls up to keep UWW out of future Stagg Bowls  ;)

Maybe UW-RF is in cahoots with UW-W to distract VK this week prior to the Stagg Bowl?  ;)
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

My guess would be Bullis. It has nothing to do with my purple tinted glasses but I remember him being highly regarded as a coach while he spent several years at UWRF. You never know how these things shake down though.

Lets remember everyone was thinking that UWW coach z version 1 was a lock for the head coaching job and then Lance came in and must have done a better job in the interview room and got the job. I say that because I wasn't there.
My point is that a lot of times it is better to take someone who has not been at the school before like LL as they only know one way to do it which is how it has been done.
Not saying Bullis won't get it. As it all depends on how he and the other candidates do in the interview room with the committee. I am also sure UWRF has a version of DLK and that person will have a say in it as well.

The Stagg Bowl pick'em has been posted. Eight (8) points for picking the correct winner and 7 bonus questions worth 2 points each make it a wide open, free-for-all, no holds barred, battle royale minus the cage, final saturday. So, get your picks in no later than game time on 18 Dec to be counted. Good Luck to all. If you want to keep your picks secret, PM them to me instead of posting them on the pick'em page!!

P.S. Grand Prize to the winner - bragging rights for at least one year!!  ;)

Is it true that the number of "bonus questions" is directly related the deficit that Bobo faces heading into the Stagg Bowl?  ;D

I know that Gordon Mann and Keith McMillan at Wesley, and Brandon Stewart and I in Alliance, are very thankful for the NCAA.com top-notch producers we worked with yesterday in our game broadcasts.  The replays and on-screen graphics were great enhancements over past productions, and we hope you enjoyed the productions.

If you want to relive either National Semifinal Round game, then go to http://www.ncaa.com/allaccess/?media=217194 and scroll down to the bottom of the screen.  There are highlights of both games, and the entire Bethel/Mount Union game has been posted.

Thanks for your enormous viewership yesterday, and we'll see many of you in Salem.  Safe trips, everyone!

Conspiracy theorists of the WIAC pick'em world unite!! Is bleedpurple, if that is your real name, beginning to feel the heat? Could it be that bp just likes to take pokes at senior citizens?  :-\   ;D  The way I see it, I'm either incredibly smart or incredibly stupid. In all honesty, I never thought about my deficit. I thought the bonus questions might create an additional buzz this week. And starting with your post, I believe I succeeded.  ;)

Hey, lay off BoBo! :o

There's enough points there that I could theoretically go from outhouse to penthouse!  (Ain't gonna happen, but theoretically ...! ;D)

I have nothing but respect for the conference and suggest that the WIAC could certainly go higher with or without the scholarships.....

good luck to ww...

HS Coach has Mount as a 2.5 pt underdog which I think is about right. I see this as a very close game but would give the slight edge to UWW. They have been #1 all year long. It should be a great one again.

IMO, the key will be Mount's pass protection. If they can buy enough time to throw effectively then they will have a good shot at winning. If not, I don't think we can produce a sustained running attack against the UWW front 7.

Agreed and I would flip it as well.  If we can't buy Brekke enough time to throw successfully to open up the run, we can't win on a running game alone either.  A balanced attack is particularly important to advance in the play-offs, but an absolutely requirement to win in Salem, IMHO.  It's the ultimate cliche, but it all comes down to the line play.

There's no way we could compete with the other DII programs for athletes without offering scholarships.  Given that we are state funded schools that isn't going to happen.  Now if we had gazillion dollar trust funds maybe but we don't so no way.
