HOLD ON ONE SECOND!

I think you UWW folks are forgetting one VERY important culture change that really put UWW on the map.  Yep....that's right....playing Mount in '02/'03...and Coach B (and some staff) spending time with LK in the summer to learn how he was doing things. 

So......to clarify.....ALL of UWW's success is due to Mount.  It's all Mount all the time!   

One more thing......VK applying for any position is a well-thought out FAMILY decision.  It's all part of the bigger plan.   

So with all the credit LK  deservedly gets for the Mount success, he has to squarely take the BLAME for Mount losing two of the last three national championships! 

And the credit for 3 of the last 5!

I was just thinking In my home town the high school nickname is the Winhawks, and the college team (Winona State) is the Warriors. Is UWW a hybrid of these two? Just another reason for me to root for the War Hawks this Saturday. Bring the Walnut and Bronze back to the West.

Barber Greene, Manuel, NIU has their new coach. A familiar face in Wisconsin.

Yeah I saw that yesterday.  Interesting.  I think the interim coach at NIU thought he had a chance at the job.  They need to make sure to hire a good OC to keep that Offense going with the new HC being a Defensive guy.

Anyone else find it strange that the recent D1 Football Coach hirings have been done fairly quickly, without the normal interviewing of multiple candidates (especially Black candidates)?

Miami, Florida and even Northern Illinois seem to have skipped over the multiple interview stages.

I'm thinking that the Floyd Keith and the Black Coaches Association may have some issues with this.

UMD's Bulldogs (14-0) will be seeking their second NCAA D2 championship under Coach Bob Nielson this weekend against Delta State University.

Nielson is a former UWEC head coach, and includes two others coaches on his staff with WIAC ties = Stout's Todd Strop, and Curt Wiese, who quarterbacked UWSP's Pointers to a share of the conference title in 1998...

Good luck to them and the rest of the Bulldogs, many of whom played high school ball in Wisconsin...

Go UMD!!!  They are lucky to have such a well resumed staff!

I was told by a very reliable source that Zebrowski is going to Minnesota as an assistant offensive coordinator.  This will happen after the NIU bowl game.  As a NIU grad, I will be sad to see him go.  Major difference in the NIU offense this year vs last.

I thought Pam Ward did the PBP last year, but not sure on this. I do remember a few years back when Chris Spielman (former Buckeye/pro LB did the color), it was pretty well done. He is a regular ESPN guy. Maybe this new group will be really knowledgeable about both teams!

Warhawkguard--It's my understanding, from one of the people on the selection committee, that Lax has not even opened their position to candidates yet. That gives RF a leg up on them, I would think.

It takes two years to totally appreciate the "UWRF/City of RF Relative Worth." Obviously, you left a year too early! (Said in response to the implied disparagement of the city in comparison to LaCrosse.)

Go Hawks! Or, at least I think I'll be happier if they win. But wouldn't a MU win make VK an even greater asset if he eventually gets hired. I'm conflicted.

No, I believe it was two guys in the booth last year. I think Pam Ward did the Stagg Bowl games up until 2008.
