The impressive thing about Levell's effort today was all the times he hit the line of scrimmage, or tried to get around it, and did not get much because Mount was hitting hard and then POOF!....gone.
I know it's verboten, but he looked like an OJ Simpson of 1967-68. Take my word for it.

Just as long as he never looks like an OJ Simpson of the last decade or so! :o

Reflections from Salem.  Way better weather than last year!  LOL!  Great game.  Congrats to O-Line and Coppage for a great job and to the defense for really clamping down in the second half. Congrats to the seniors for a great run.  Three Stagg championships in 4 years. Great job!

After today I think we can clearly say that the top 4 is:

1. UWW
2. UMU
3. NCC (Yes three, not two, UMU is clearly better)
4. Wesley (weakest of the four on both sides of the ball)
Congrats tothe Warhawks. If the above rankings hold true, you beat the #2, 3 and 4 team without meeting any of them in a home game. My guess is next year they make you beat 2, 3, 4, 5 an 6 without a home game. :D

If that would mean UWW's fourth national championship and third in a row then I'm all for it!  ;D

cleary better???....NCC vs. UMU would be a great game....i still think NCC was the toughest game we had...

you still have to take into account that for the most part NCC was at full strength in that game while both WW and UMU were battling injuries at the most key positions at the end of the playoffs...you can not base the talent of Mount as a whole based on their performance today...not without Seaman at QB it just isn't fair...same with the fact people said throughout the playoffs that WW's offense wasn't that great but would fail to mention we were starting our #2 QB as well...

9 turnovers in the Stagg Bowl to me says that neither team played their A game but the battled it out and I think the best team did come out on top...but I do have a hard time saying I could rate Mount Union after watching todays game...I think they are the #2 team until someone takes that away from them and gets to the Stagg without them or WW

Cute. You'd think with a population of 10,000 there'd be more produced.
$7,000 state tuition, sweet!

Congratulations, let the chipping begin.

Ok, Ok, any insight how the new WIAC scheduling is going to figure into next season?

Big congrats to Whitewater!

You guys proved once again that you are the best in D3. You just keep grinding away.

Merry Christmas one and all. Enjoy your well-earned vacation.

A big congrats to the 2010 Stagg Bowl Champion Warhawks, their staff and to all of us who are blessed to be part of the Warhawk Nation.  We had a spectacular time yesterday at the Mad Boar watching a very large group of the 07 seniors while they huddled, chanted, sang the fight song after TD's and sprayed champagne at the buzzer, reveling in the accomplishments that they had a hand in starting back in 05 and with winning the first championship in 07.  Very touching to read that the 07 team was on the minds of some of the Warhawks yesterday after their win in Keith's article.  It has been an amazing run.  A special thanks to the 2010 seniors.  You won't celebrate a win like that again wearing a uniform, but I saw first hand yesterday, that a win, as an Ex-Warhawk, can still be almost as sweet.  A special shout out to our, "weak secondary."  Matt, and Co., you were awesome, and yes, "413's LB corp did fine."  ;)  And, of course, our fantastic O and D-lines, WR corp with Brekke and #33, you all were stellar!

It is a great day to be a Warhawk!   :-*

Warhawk faithful, congrats on a great season and fine win.  I had two thoughts during Coppage's last play...1) pre-snap, it was "just don't let him break off another long run like Beavers, and then after he broke free it was...2) @#%$ another 10 point loss!

It was a great game, though not quite what a lot of people expected.  Mount's run pass protection held up better than some though and Whitewater's secondary played amazing.  I think a lot of it had to do with not needing to put an extra man up to defend the run since you were able to do that pretty well with your standard line.  It allowed the extra guy to be back in the secondary and that made all the difference.

After watching all the great running backs at Mount Union come along in succession, I really am beginning to wonder who's next in line after next year.  Beavers...Coppage...dangit!

Anyways, congrats on keeping Mount Union off the scoreboard for all but about 4 minutes in the second quarter.  I was amazed at how much the defenses took control of the second half.  Both teams got some yards, but except for Coppage's final score (he didn't have any broken ribs, did he?), both offenses were held in check.

congrats.
