I know Franklin is playing Mount in a home/home starting in 2012.  I am interested in checking out their well publicized tailgate.   :)

Is it true that Franklin has agreed to play WW in 2001

Yes, it's true.  Unfortunately they waited 10 years too long to make the committment.  ;)

Actually I don't know if it's true or not.

Actually after seeing North Central this year....Coppage,Stanley,and Anderson I believe could start for the NC.....Taking nothing away from their team which was way better than many of us in the crowd expected.....NC's defense in my opinion was as good as MU but their offense has a way to go. Have to agree with Champs that not real interested who is ranked 2 or 3.....wasn't when we were runner-up and still not......My son's team was runner up twice and that was real neat but can't imagine what it feels like to win three times....Pound the Rock ! BOOM!!!!.......Cudos the Oak PARK connection which will be back in full force next year......BOOM AGAIN......

There is a TE from Oak Park on the Roster who will be a household name a year from now...mark it down!

The big quaestion is can anyone in division three not Whitewater or Mount Union off on their way tot he stagg bowl???
I don't think so as some have said the NCAA  not making UWW a #1 seed, as wella s the fact that none of the schools in Wisconsin or other states around the midwest will Play Whitewater.
Is it true that Franklin has agreed to play WW in 2010. If so props to them. Hopfully more d3 schools will play WW in the future so the NCAA can't hold playing naia schools against them.
As far as were Mr. Zweifel is coaching warhawkguard. He is the head coach at Dubque college in Dubque Iowa. He just finished his second year.

Not really surprised by that one. I'm pretty sure he didn't know what year it was.

Hey Kitchen,

I just remembered that the OPRF high school baseball coach was a WIAC (WSUC) guy. He played football at UWO.  Him and I were Freshman togther before I transfered. to WW

Close, warhawkbabe.  Mount Union College went 13 times and University of Mount Union has gone once for a total of 14 trips.  Mount Union College also lost to St. Johns a few years ago.

On another note, and I realize that this is early in the game for him, but what's the general feeling of Leipold sticking around Whitewater for a long time?  I know y'all would love him to, but does he seem like the person to do that?  Does he seem happy/content enough for that or do folks think he may want to look "higher up" the coaching ranks at some point.

I ask because if he decides to stay for, oh I don't know, 25+ years, he has a legit shot at challenging some of the records that Kehres has.  White Kehres had decent success early on, it took him a little while to really build the program into the juggernaut it has become.  Leipold took over a program in better shape than Kehres did, giving him a jump start on some numbers.  He already has three championships in 5 (?) years, and it took Kehres a lot longer just to get his first.

Winning percentage, total wins, playoff winning percentage, playoff wins, and even national championships are all records that Leipold could have within his reach over time.  I know it's sacrilege for this Purple Raiders fan to say, but I see it as possible.  Hell, if you go undefeated for a third straight championship, you've really got a legit shot at the consecutive wins.

Ok, I know that any of these things taking place are a LOOOOOOOONG ways off, but perhaps it's fun off-season pondering.

Jaypeter-Sorry about that your right it's 10 championships in 14 trips. Which is still pretty DAM impressive.
As far as leipold staying around. I don't know because last year he was a finalist for the Grand Valley State job. Seeing that he has worked at both division two and division 1 levels of football. He may be interested in trying to be a head coach at a division 2 school.
I know he is a WW graduate and is from the area as well. So maybe that will play a part in him staying at WW for a long time.
Like I said I know WW loses some key players from this year. However they will just reload and getr eady for next year. Whoever thought thay Coppage would be as good as he is especially after what Beaver did during his career.
Having Blanchard and the best running back to ever play at Whitewater in a long time Coppage. I would thonk that WW has what it takes to get back to the stagg bowl for the 7th straight year. The target on their back just gets bigger as it's hard to repeat one to repeat three times well hopfully they can do it.

jaypeter, close - 3 wins in 4 years...at this rate, if Leipold stays the course (or his successor(s) ), and giving Mount a championship in the year UWW doesn't, UWW would pass Mount in championships as early as the year 2021 (give or take a year or two) when the Warhawks win their 13th to only 12 for Mount!!  ;)  ;D  :D  That sort of streak would definately eclipse Mounts in terms of impressiveness.

Can you see that in your crystal ball? IMO we will see our first, evolved, flying pig before this happens. Mount has possibly set the bar so high that some of us may never know anything except Mount as the king of DIII football. At 68 years young, I'm just hoping to be alive and kicking 11 years from now!!  ;)

Me?  Nope - Cheesehead, all my life.  Many fine visits to Illinois, but never a resident.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Let me be the LAST to offer my congratulations to the UWW Warhawks. Since I was out of town and away from my machine, I missed the game, but have it DVRed and hope to watch soon. I was not a believer in watching some early games, but they improved steadily throughout the season and are deserving the title of Champion.  Too bad some of their fans are tools. ;D Most are not however, so +k spread around as the only way I can offer any kudos.
