02 Warhawk,

What does the 2-deep roster look like going  into  2011 for UWW?

Best Wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year! :)

tough to tell, but based on what they had in 2010, my guess is this:

QB: Blanchard, Brekke/Knapp
RB: Coppage, Pirtle
WR: Huber, Menzel(?)
TE: Ford, Graham (?)
O-Line: Allemand is our only returning starter from the o-line

D-line: Minette, Casper, Hohlstein, Endes, Keeser
LB: Arnold, Borland, Williams,
DB: McCollum, Kiesow, Overton, Convington, Wenkman

that's the best I can do...but a lot can change between now and fall of 2011.

02 Warhawk,

Thanks for the info! UWW in 2011 reminds me of Mount Union in 2008. The Raiders had only 6 starters returning, but two of them were Kmic and Micheli :) +k

Don't know if this has been discussed, but any news on the HC situation at UW-L?

As of about a week+ ago, more than 50 had applied...Applications will be reviewed beginning Jan. 10...Target date of Feb. 1 for a hiring to be done...

Who would apply with one year of high school experience?  Are you kidding me.

... or professional coaching experience? Friend of the AD, perhaps? Wonder if some of the 50 names include the finalist at UWRF? Could Bullis be looking in that direction? With their new AD coming from outside the system, maybe La Crosse is going to ramp up their committment to football - something that wasn't there in Terry's final years.

The source eludes me, but read somewhere that the new coach at UWL will be able to hire two on-staff assistants. While still under-staffed, that's a big leap forward, and the new AD should get some credit for gaining concessions from a disinterested administration .

So I'm only one year of experience short?  Darn.

Should have gone into coaching instead of officiating.

Nah, maybe not.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Could be he wanted to go through the interview process to see how it went and didn't think he would be considered.  Then, when the offer came, decided it wasn't the right fit.

What happened to Manuel whats-the-last-name I can't spell or say? The Canadian pharmacist, I think? Did your young son demand the change? Or do you change each time the Raiders come up a bit short? !!  ;)

My yahoo account got hacked last summer and a bunch of spam email was sent out signed "Manual Wilocq" so I thought it would be fun to use that moniker for a while.  Was going to go back to Kirasdad, but thought I should add the boy to it as well.

Wow I don't think anyone saw that coming. However after Bullis turned the job down they obviously went to their number 2 choice. I was thinking vince kehres or maybe the guy from Stevens Point.

Any job search (in just about any industry) draws people who just don't have a clue what they need for the job.

In a past life I served on an D-III head basketball coaching search committee. We received one applicant from a man who said he'd never actually "coached' a team, but he'd helped out with his daughter's sixth grade team and he's been to coaching clinics featuring Rick Majuerus and Coach K.
