02 Warhawk,
"Why not 11 in '11, The Raiders have a ton of starters returning! ";D ;D

Because UWW decided to stay in Div III, Lance stayed on as coach, Levell stayed at RB and you'll see just how lucky you were that Matt Blanchard wasn't able to play in the 2010 Stagg.  :o   ;)

For 2010, it was the Warhawks who had everyone coming back. For 2011, the Raiders will have their turn. Not sure how much more Blanchard's playing would have changed the result! :)

yea, we know. UMU will be very tough to beat. But you are losing arguably your five best players from last season (Shorts, Miller, Budzinksi, Kershaw and Guerrero). All of whom received all-american honors.

But I have little doubt that they won't be replaced with new all-american talent....

OK folks, I don't  have to tell you not to go outside in your slippers.

Got my fingers crossed for you.

As we dig out from this monstrosity, I can only think of one thing to say.

I'm so looking forward to going to Arizona in just over a month.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

26 days until I am on Grace Bay beach in the Turks & Caicos.  At least they got my power back on after 16 hours.  I give those electric power line crews all the PLUS K in the world!

Any news about how the interviews of the final candidates have gone up at UW-LaCrosse???
The final candidate, Tony Jennison, head coach at Macalester College (Minn.), was due to interview today...
I'll post a link to the writeup in tomorrow's local paper...

Wartburg's Joel Dettwiler was the  third candidate interviewed.
Here's a writeup:

The other two candidates last week were Mount Union's Vince Kehres

and Jake Moreland of Western Michigan.

While D3 recruiting is always unofficial until the guys show up in August - there is a report in the Milw Journal Sentinel about college "commitments":

Story on the final UWL head coaching position candidate:

Since this level of football is on the back burner - there's this game called the Super Bowl this weekend; Go Pack!  ;) - I'll dig around later to find the date, which I forget at this moment, when they expect to hire...  ;)

If my wife looked like that I'd be hitting the strip clubs too.  :D

Who's your guess for the UWL job?  Mine is Vince Kehres.  If they want to beat UWW, they need to bring in the guy that knows what it looks like.

I didn't sit in on any of the UWL interviews, and read all four stories on the candidates... Also watched the comments they made on tv recaps. That being said, I took away something from each of them that I liked.

Kehres obviously has been in a winning program and knows what it takes; can he translate that into a head coaching position?

Detwiller, having played at Platteville, has an appreciation for UWL; he thinks he can bring in kids to build on and continue what he believes is a great tradition. He's been with with a team that has had success in Wartburg, too...

Moreland has the contacts and has been recruiting for a D1 school (Western Michigan) and has traveled throughout Wisconsin, so that bodes well for his case.... As do his NFL experience and his high school career at Marquette HS.....

My favorite is based merely on my first impressions of what I've seen, without any inside knowledge - Jennison. He impressed me in a comment he made about his coaching ambitions. He could be sucking up, ha, but he said UWL has always been the job he's wanted, over the Bigtime D1 programs... But he's a UWL grad, and was on two title teams, so he may have that intangible aspect of having a deeper wanting to see his school succeed again.... He's also the only one of the four with head coaching experience, with a stint at UWEC, too, as an assistant...

We shall see...
