Lane Olson still unsigned. He tells the Racine Journal-Times he was a basket case yesterday waiting for a call from his agent.

Lane deserves a shot at getting into an NFL camp - but so did Justin Beaver and Jeff Schebler!

Hope he does! Who were the interested NFL teams? :-\

Time to plan the Lacrosse trip. Anybody know if there is a preferred hotel to stay Sat night?

Re All American selections. I believe Matt Blanchard had a Jr year that rivals any numbers put up by preseason selections at QB.
I look forward to a great year for him and believe he will be All American (staying healthy).
I also look for Logan Allemond to recieve significant praise with All American potential.

Not much help with the hotels, 17.  We usually made the drive in one day because it is only 4 hours for us.  AA is always so tricky.  Players have to be nominated by coaches/SID's, and it is such a balancing act. QB is especially difficult with there being limited spots on AA lists unlike say, LB's where there are at least 3 spots at each level.  But I totally agree, I fully expect Matt to have an outstanding senior year and prove he is well deserving of the honor.  I remember, Coach Brez saying something about having 2 players at a position, both well deserving of consideration, but then having to nominate one this year and the other the next to try and get them both their AA recognition.  A team will only get so many spots, so many offense, defense, special teams, and so on. And then there is the geographic factor with lists needing to spread the love around.

NFL lock out over and opening day of Warhawk camp right around the corner, Boys.  Starting to get really excited!!!! ;) :D ;D

I also thought of Blanchard.  If he has another year like last year and stays healthy he'd certainly have to be considered.   I'd rather see him on the post season All American list myself.

I think if he'd played in the Stagg we'd probably have had him on there. But in the end, all we'd heard is five weeks of "he could play this week" or "it'll be a game-time decision" and he hasn't taken a snap.

The good thing is he is on your radar- as BW said, I'd rather see him on the post season AA list.  He'll have to do it w a mostly new corp of receivers and new oline- can't wait for opening weekend in Lacrosse.

I have to be honest...I had to look him up b/c I didn't recognize his name. But, hopefully you're right about the young O-lineman.

I'm a little nervous going into this season with this new line.

02- if you have the 2010 Stagg Bowl recorded, watch him play at right tackle. I was watching it recently and he caught my eye. In fact, I was caught off guard in how well he performed.

Pat, I was a bit surprised by your comment above. To be clear, I'm not campaigning for Matt to be pre-season AA, as has been said, it's the end of year that matters.
Your comment above surprises me because you apparently placed significant import on his playoff appearance/Stagg appearance. If playoff performance wasn't a factor/requirement for the other preseason QB selections, why would it be for Matt?
I can certainly understand if the other QB considerations had great playoff performances and, therefore, you could use playoffs as a "tie breaker".
Again, I'm fine with your pre season selections, but I am surprised with the reasoning.

It's more a matter of having been told for five weeks in a row that he could play, but then didn't, that now I'm waiting to see him actually take a snap before considering him for that high a pedestal.

I am sure he will play, but you can probably see why there's room for doubt in my mind.
