2003 - total D ranked #2
2002 - total D ranked #3
20112001? - total D ranked #1

You caught me BoBo...I meant 2011...I was trying to sneak that by everyone ;D

You can sneak it past some of the people some of the time, but you can't sneak it past all the people all the time!! [move][move][move][move][move]My best optimistic guess for the 2011 Titans - they'll be in the #4-#6 range in conference, which in my view is a defense that will have issues to deal with.  They will not win games because of their defense, but they may very well lose a game(s) because of it, IMHO.   ;)

Hey Oshfb, we just can't get anybody to join our Oshkosh bandwagon.  ???

413, I hear what you're saying.  I really don't know the answer as to if it has worked for UWW.  I have tried to find the 2010 preseason roster to see how many of the kids on the 2011 preseason roster were on it, but I can't seem to locate it.
The theory is utilized at younger levels like youth ball and high school.  We call them "older lighters" in youth ball- that extra year of maturity, even though they are a bit lighter, helps them a ton.  I don't know about 18 and 19 year olds.

footballfan413

I guess it really depends on how a coaching staff chooses to use grey shirting.  Is is mainly a consolation prize?  "Sorry, you're not good enough to make the roster and warrant our time and energy to develop you but see what you can do to improve and there's always next year."  Or, "We think you've got a bright future here but there is kind of a log jam at your position for the next year or so, so here's the play book, do what you can on your own this season and then when you do start, you'll be that much bigger and stronger."  I'm sure it happens both ways all the time.  But in the case that Oshfb spoke about, where a freshman just decides, on his own, that he would be better served to fore go a spot on the roster thinking he is wasting his time on the bench and has a better shot at competing by sitting out, that one I am really suspect about working for a player for all the reasons he listed. But, of course, there are exceptions, I'm sure.

Heading to Wisconsin later today for the start of High School ball!  Very excited!

The start of high school football tonight means I get to put the zebra stripes on again.  That also means that Saturday aft's at the Perk are not far off!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Kind of curious to see Whitewater's back-up RB in action.

Desmin Ward 6'4" 240 lbs   :o
Transfer from Eastern IL

As freshman he led EIU in rushing TDs with 11.

This kid sounds like a load, and he's a junior.

Looks like a load to: http://media.www.dennews.com/media/storage/paper309/news/2008/09/10/Sports/Football.Spotlight.Freshman.Desmin.Ward.Gains.Ground-3422494.shtml

If he really is 6'4", it would appear as if he grew 4 inches in the last 3 years too!! (article says he "was" 6' in '08)  ;)

His running style according to the article - "Big and bruising."  Hope he hasn't lost that touch.
Don't need any 240 lbs teddy bear RB's!!  ;)

Having seen him I don't think he's 6'4".  I don't doubt he's 240 or thereabouts.  He also appeared to have some quicks.  All and all a nice addition to the running back corp and I suspect he'll see plenty of carries.

Last year I heard whispers that Whitewater will be charging an increased "premium price" for tailgaters parking in the lot just south of the stadium (Perking lot).

Does anyone know if that was put in place this season? Hopefully it was just a rumor.

BW? Voice? F413? Bueller?

Must admit I have never heard of fistball  ;) , but then I've also never heard of a D3 school charging for PARKING!
Really?  ???   :o   :(
A D3 school?   ::)  Sounds more like D1. Is this common?

Not sure....but the parking lots are run by the softball team. They keep (I assume) all the proceeds to help finance their season. I don't mind, it's only a few bucks. Plus, I'm helping support Warhawk athletics by doing it.

I think you used just about all of the emoticons DIIIboards has to offer, in just one post!!!.  ;)

UWW isn't the only place where you pay to park but the list that I've seen is pretty small.

Agreed -- to me, supporting the softball team makes it not a big deal. Although it means I won't buy a 50-50 ticket. ;)

Like 02 said, BoBo, we have been paying $3 bucks for a spot in the Perk lot for as long as I have been going, 2003.  The girls softball team is always there bright and early, rain or shine, to collect with the proceeds going to their program.  The girls gymnastics team spends the morning offering 50/50 raffle tickets with the proceeds going to them.  The girls look for me as I am always good for a $10 spot.   ;)  My daughter was a gymnast.  All a great way and opportunity to support a variety of sports and athletes at UWW.  We'll see if the cost changes.

Hand raised.

It's similar to volleyball except the playing surface is larger and the ball is allowed to bounce one time before being returned by hitting it with a fist or arm over a net.  It's European in origin and dates to the Roman time.

I'm not sure if it changed but there used to be an area in which you could park without paying.  Of course it was the longest walk to the stadium but only a few blocks.  City streets are also available if $3 breaks the bank.
