It took a while though.

Has anyone heard of any notable lifting numbers from testing days?  Who is the strongest player pound for pound in the WIAC?

Hmmm,
I bet Lane was close last year (I have no facts whatsoever to back that up though).

So how does everyone think the conference will stack up?

My guess (some bold predictions):

1. UW-Whitewater
2. UW-Platteville
3. UW-Stevens Point
4. UW-Stout
5. UW-LaCrosse
6. UW-Oshkosh
7. UW-Eau Claire
8. UW-River Falls

Never would have guessed!!   ;)

To paraphrase "Brill" ortherwise known as Edward Lyle, the Gene Hackman character in Enemy of the State, you've set yourself up to look either incredibly smart, or incredibly. . . _________________.

Don't I know it.  Or like they said of the dog in one of my favorite comedys-The Jerk once they realized Nathan Johnson (die gas pumper), Steve Martin, didn't know what the heck he was talking about,  "Don't call him lifesaver, call him sh_t Head!"

^^ Ahhh, The Jerk - a timeless classic!!  ;)

One of my favorite concerts was seeing Steve Martin at Alpine Valley during the "Excuse me" era.  Loved that arrow through the head prop and King Tut song!!  ;)  +k for bringing back some fond memories.

I think I still have the arrow . . . it's been around the world with me over the years . . . you've given me a mission for today, find that arrow!!

I always thought it was funny that his hometown is Waco, Texas!!

I like the part when he's leaving home and keeps saying "all I need is this" as he picks up one meaningless item after another.

Pat, I like the new look.

My predictions.

WARHAWKS
Eau Claire ... a lot of starters returning
Stout ... solid defense, enough offense?
Stevens Point ... rebuilding
Oshkosh ... smoke and mirrors only get you so far
LaCrosse ... a year away from resurgence
Platteville ... could surprise and move up with offense
River Falls ... a work in progress

Anyone willing to volunteer to run the pickem?

Hey everyone,

10 days until opening night, so thought I would check in. Looks like I have missed some interesting recent board developments. Some familiar things like UW-W fans giving props to Mount Union ( because they don't get enough of that), UW-W getting some promising transfers (because they don't get enough of those), grey shirting and the whole public/private debate, and continued optimism in some quarters for the prospects of UW-O.  Also a new development with Emma17 becoming quite the rabble-rouser (someone has to add the spice).

But my absolute favorite is the quote inferring that Waunakee High School would take down UW-W in a blood bath.  I did laugh out loud at some of the comments following that one. At the end of last season, I made a "That's the stupidest post I've ever seen" comment when a poster indicated that Levell Coppage would not start for North Central.  That guy is officially off the hook. I'm not sure this one will ever be topped.

ANYONE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF THE 2011 TOP 25 FAN POLL, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE WITH YOUR CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS. Now that Kickoff is out, I'd like to get our first poll out by the middle of next week.

Bobo I hope you find that arrow- an absolute classic.  Must have been a great concert- I laugh just thinking of Steve Martin.

Welcome back Bleed.
Sounds like you have the makings of something similar to Jeff Foxworthy's "Here's your sign" skit.

Well, as far the Warrior fan predicting a blood bath, yes, "Here's your sign!"  :)
