Sorry if this has been posted, but where did Michael Pirtle end up playing? Did he stay within the WIAC?

I don't think he landed on a team. I heard he tried to go elsewhere but found no takers.

Too bad. He's got some talent. Runs hard.

I wonder where he was looking.  If he is as good as you say, seems he would have made the roster at any WIAC school.

This story must be "need to know" classified as it doesn't add up. Pirtle was in the perfect position this year for lots of carries as #'s 2 & 3 got last year. Then next year he's the man. Must be personal stuff, which I really don't need to know. I wish him well.

I heard on the coache's show that he's taking a year off for 'personal reasons' and may be back next year. He looked great against River Falls and seemed to be the heir appearent to coppage; hope he returns with three years of eligibility next year

Tom Pattison reports that Samplawski and McCollum both plan to redshirt this year.

So I guess that just makes the 2011 team that much worse and the 2012 team that much better.

"Worse" is a strong word. McCollum has a VERY solid backup taking his place (a DII transfer).
They both will be missed, but we're deep in Dbacks. Also, we have other capable kick returners to fill Samplawski's shoes.

You gotta think Shane Covington could work as a DB in addition to being a WR.

I was really looking forward to watching Josh Williams, he showed so much talent last year- made some nice plays in the Stagg Bowl.

You might have to wait till later in October.

I'd be good with November 5th. A couple of games under his belt and then be ready for the playoffs. With an achilles, they need to be careful. Better a week too late than a week too early.

Warhawk roster posted....no Steve McCollom or Aaron Samplawski.  I want to wish them well after their great Warhawk careers!

http://www.uwwsports.com/roster.aspx?path=football&

That just took me to the 2010 roster

You'll have to choose the 2011 roster

Littlle help somebody??  I've had a bad day - I fell into the shrubbery in front of my Condo and it took me awhile to extricate myself.
I still can't figure out how to find UWW's 2011 roster Tried to take BadgerWarhawks guide to get it - but it just isn't working for me.

Could someone post the URL with the 2011 Roster - not just the URL to the UWW athletics site.

To the person that gets my the correct URL and I'll "give you some love" on my http://www.voiceseyeonfootball.blogspot.com/ blog

Much appreciate Warhawk Nation!!!

It seems to have been taken down yesterday afternoon shortly after being posted because a couple of roster spots were not filled.

It's not available today, Voice.  Possibly because it hasn't been finalized yet.  There are still two players to add.

Baring anything completely unforeseen Covington will remain at WR.

Funny, going into last year and for much of the year, the one noticable weakness of the Warhawks was the secondary - all (many?) Warhawk fans were "concerned" to put it mildly at the youth and inexperience back there. They did have a heck of a playoff run ending with a pretty effective Stagg Bowl. It was with the running backs we felt we (at least I) were in good position...what a difference a few months make!!  ;)

I know it's early and there's probably nothing, but is there any news or rumors about who UWW might play next year for the non conference games?
