Where's the love? I'm sitting like 50 feet away fer chrissaakes,  :P

WIAC THURSDAY NIGHT PROJECTION

(Sorry, Emma!)

That would be Mr. Titan to you  ;D

IMO it'll be a battle for second place between UWP, UWO and possibly UWEC and UWSP if they can fully get their act together.

UWO is a good team, nowhere near UWW and UMU good though, I suspect UWW shall beat them around the score of the game between UWO/UMU earlier. UWW has the offense and defense, UWO just has the good offense and an average defense.

UWO quarterback Nate Wara has huge game in Titans 56-10 throttling of Stout in Menomonie tonight with 357 yards of total offense.

Wara completes 11 of 16 passes for 172 yards and 2 TDs.

Wara leads the Titans with 185 yards on the ground at 2 more TDs.

Titans scored 14 points in each of the game's four quarters.

::shrug:: Were you in the high roller booth? I was lucky to get a seat in the home radio booth. I had to work to get that! Apparently I have to be a donor to get a media seat. :)

I have a feeling that UWEC and UWO will be battling it out for the #2 spot in the WIAC. I'm not feeling UWSP this year, they have yet to score a TD...and I think they'll lose when they travel to Albion tomorrow. UWW does have both EC and Osh on the road later this year, which makes me a little uneasy.

UWO comes home to UWRF next week, before hitting the road to play at EC. That might be the game of the year in the WIAC I think, Osh at EC. There's a chance that the winner of that game will be shooting for a Pool C bid come November.

I see it different then you. UWO almost gave up the game at the end to Central, did not play good at all against Mount and beat an average to not good Stout team. I watched the highlights of UWO/UMU over on UMU's website. Wara fumbling and throwing picks all over the field and the defense not being able to stop much. It looked like a UWW game. :P

As for UWEC, they lost a close game to a not very good Bethel team and then destroyed a not very good St. John's team, so I'm not convinced about them though you could be right that they'll be good.

UWP demolished two teams it should and lost a close game to a top 10 team that blew them out last year and were within two late in the game. UWL can also cause problems since they picked it up against UMHB. UWSP can still pick it up as well, nothing motivates you more then playing conference opponants but we shall see.

I'm also not saying all these games will be easy for UWW, they'll have to play good football the whole time but I still believe they can move through the conference like last year. They probably won't have a "demolish the conference" type of season like 2009 however.

Correction...UWEC destroyed St. John's 47-19 in week 2 at at St. John's. I also see Wara having a significantly better game against UWW than he had against UMU...his week 2 game against UMU was not up to his par of playing. UWSP seems down this year. I've never been a Stout fan (sorry). UWP seems surprising to me as a contender for top 3 this year. I don't know much about UWEC's team this year to venture a guess.

Oops, that's what I meant to say! UMU's defense made Wara play the way way he did and I feel that UWW's will do the same.

???  Why?  His worst games (and his teams worst games) the past 2 seasons have been to Mount and UWW. I think there is a significant reason for that.   ;)

Let's look at his stats vs Mount and vs UWW the last 2 times the Titans have played each:

vs UWW '09
Rush 8-34 yds
Pass 19-30 145 yds 0 TD

vs UWW '10
Rush 17-11 yds
Pass  22-31 217 yd 1 TD  4 sacks

vs UWW '11
?

vs Mount '10
rush 15-80 yds
pass 20-34 238 3 TD

vs Mount '11
rush 18-79 yds
pass 16-31 138  1 TD 2 INT  1 sack

I think if you look at the numbes objectively, he's had better success vs Mount, no? Throwing for 4 scores vs Mount with only 1 against UWW. I'm not a statistician, but nothing in these stats support the theory that he will have a significantly better game vs UWW this year. In fact, I suggest just the opposite is more likely.

You can be very well right. Unfortunately it'll probably just be another log jam between the 2-4 teams in the WIAC (whoever they may be). so by beating each other up in conference play will more than likely prevent a second WIAC team getting into the post season.

I really hope a team emerges itself from the pack and finishes strongly in second. Then receives strong consideration for a playoff bid. I think Osh and EC have that potential...but we'll see.

Master, master, master.  Those comments on the mighty Titan v Mt are just....

I'll send pm.

Bobo- nice job on the stats comparison.  Wara and the Titans have done things to Mt that no other team but UWW has done.

02- I'm with you.  As much as I think Oshkosh is #2 best with EC and Platteville right there, I don't see any of these three escaping with only 1 loss in the WIAC.  It's too bad as I believe all of them would do the WIAC proud in the playoffs.

You would think so. I just remember Point, after getting the automatic bid in 2008, lost their opening round game, at home, against Wartbug. Who UWW went on to beat two rounds later.
