Master,
That's a perfect compatibility test.
Make sure you make the rounds and introduce her to us tailgaters. I've heard 413's tent has a mean bloody and someone in our group usually has spiked jello. You need to find out early in the relationship if she's got what it takes.
Spiked Jello? ???   I, uh, we, uh, who would ever do that?  ;D

Actually after all I had heard about the turf in Soldier Field I thought it looked pretty decent.  I couldn't figure out what the delay was the one time they fiddled with it.

The bear still suck.   ;D :P

There was a piece of metal about 3 or 4 inches long sticking out of the ground... perhaps from the heating coils under the field?

It was resodded prior to the Packer game FWIW.

To bad that game was in EC, roocru.  We haven't traveled to away games since #33 finished playing because if it had been in the Perk, you would have had plenty of company and the best Bloody Mary you ever tasted!   ;)

I have made two friendly posts this year. The only response I received was from BoBo on the ASC board.  Last year I was in Wisconsin during the football season and made a special stop to watch the Whitewater/Eau Claire game in Eau Claire.  I posted a few times I was going to be there and would like to sit and visit with some WIAC fans.  I never got a serious response and watched the game from the Whitewater stands by myself.
I enjoy reading the WIAC board and listening to your knowledgeable posts and your banter!  I remember meeting fbfan413 on a Whitewater trip to Texas and seeing some of you posters at the Stagg Bowl (I have been there every year since 2005 except for last year while my grandson was being born).

I guess my only point is that these examples are why there may not be as many outside posters.  Just a thought for you guys and let me emphasize again that I do not want any extra cheese with my whine!  ;) ;D

Best of luck to all the WIAC teams and I hope to see a game between UMHB and any WIAC school this year.  That would mean both of us had advanced pretty far in the playoffs and that is always a good thing!!  ;D
Thanks!! I will definitely keep that in mind the next time I head to Wisconsin for some genealogy research.. I hate to have to mix pleasure with... with.... fun!
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

It is bad enough I am a season ticketholder and attend Bear games religously.....but must I endure talk about them on the WIAC Message Board.....Please no more I beg you......Although I don't post that much I visit the board a couple of times a day for the last 7 years but will have to rethink this if Bear talk persists....Pound the Rock......

Agree, I can't stand to talk about them either. Sickens me to think about them right now.

Anyways, I'm FINALLY making it to my first UWW game of the year. Kind of curious what the crowd with be like? The game will be competing with the Nebraska/Badgers game...and I think the Brewer's first playoff game is that day as well (not sure what time though).  Hopefully we'll still get a crowd, and tailgating scene.

02 Warhawk, it's Family Day on Saturday. So, you know what that means - a big crowd with parents oozing out of the Perkins Stadium cracks, and their college age child(ren) on their best behavior, probably a little less inebriated. Has the makings of a rather quite, subdued, but large crowd. The stadium security detail likes this kind of game. All fans should observe proper etiquette for all the parents, their UWW student children and younger siblings in attendance.  That means you, fbf413 - put the clamps down on people attending that famous tailgate you have.

I forgot it was family day, my God, I both loved and hated that crowd last year. I loved how many people were there but I also hated how quiet it was, and how everyone looked at you weird when you cheered loud, or sometimes even at all. At least it's supposed to be 56 and not 90 like last year!

02 Warhawk

ohhh yea....I forgot about Family Day. So it will probably be a good crowd.

Plus the game doesn't start until 2:00, so that's two extra hours of tailgating.....better bring more beer.  :o

Even though the crowd is typically subdued, I like the seeing the Perk packed.

I've always felt the Perk needs some sort of cheer that the fans come to be known for.  I know we've done the U Dub Dub chant in big games, but it seems something is missing.  J E T S is an example (but not at UWW).  Maybe I'm overlooking something, but some home fields just seem to know when and how to rock a stadium in unison.

Time for a little game of "What if...?" -

What if...?
Adrian beats Trine (like some on the MIAA board seem to think) this saturday and wins out to get their conference automatic playoff bid, in the old North Region.

What if...?
Mount Union runs the table (well, not so much a what if?), gets the number 1 seed in the old East Region (again not so much of a what if?).

What if...?
UWW wins out the season and gets the #1 seed in the old North Region.

(see where this is headed?)
chirp, chirp

What if...?
The playoff committee matches up Adrian vs UWW in the first round of the 2011 playoffs at the Perk.

What if...?
Adrian HC Jim Deere gets a headache, decides not to take the bid and keeps his team in Michigan.

:)

(Disclaimer: I'm still thinking 1 game at a time, but as a fan, I am allowed to play games of "What if?")

+k for having the exact same thoughts as I was yesterday!  ;D  I can honestly say i'm sorta hoping for that so that coach Deere (not the players) gets his just desserts for canceling the regular season game.

BoBo,

What if..... the NCAA finally keeps the teams in the right regions this year. That assumes a team from the East rises to the top (Kean, Thomas More)! :-\

I think a team from the East will have to go undefeated to get the top spot in the East. Then that might keep Mount in the North.

O2,

Will the Warhawks beat the 28.5 spread over UW-P this week or will the Pioneers keep it closer? :-\ There is your 250!

Thomas More I beleive is also in the South, not the East. So it would be up to Kean, Montclair, Alfred or Del Valat least as to how I'm remembering their current records.

MasterJedi,

You are correct, President's conference is in the South. Thanks for catching it! :)

when I was making my pickems on the OAC board I had to think long and hard on that one. I think Mr_Mom nailed this one right on the nose. If the spread was in the 30s then I would say take the points, but if it was in the lower 20s I would say give the points. 28.5 is a tough one.
