P.S.  Really looking forward to tomorrow.   Weather is looking great for tailgating and the game!

"Leading the rushing attack is junior Lee Vlasic. Vlasic has averaged 71.5 yards per game rushing, but only 3.2 yards per carry ".  I was at the UWP/UWL game and he was getting hit deep in the backfield the majority of the time, and from talking to UWP fans that has been the case all year, he has had little help from the line and will most likely continue tomorrow.  Judging from UWP last year he is a big play back that can break one at anytime if his line can stop a defensive line surge and help him get to the second level.

Although in some ways a question mark coming into the season, the defensive line at UW-W has been off to a strong start. I think much still needs to be proven because larger WIAC tests lie ahead.  But if Platteville's line is subpar, tomorrow could potentially be a long day for the Pioneers. Becoming one dimensional is a nightmare against the Warhawks.

Thanks for your response. Do you or any of your UW-P following friends know what's up with Anderson and Blaser.  Are they out for sure tomorrow as the two deep would indicate? Do you know how long they could be out? Many here are expecting/hoping for a nice year for UW-P this year.  Those losses could really hurt in a conference like the WIAC.

I'm not sure about how long Anderson will be out, he got hit pretty good (head to head contact) attempting to slide and didn't return to the game.  No clue why Blaser isn't listed on the two-deep that was news to me when I read the post this morning.  I was hoping for UWP to put up a good fight as well, they look very good on defense, heard they might have some injuries that the two deep doesn't indicate with their linebackers and possibly a safety, so that could change their defensive game plan tomorrow.  It's too bad that offense is looking like they are missing Anderson and Blaser because they can be very explosive with Anderson, Blaser, good RB in Vlasak, and a Giant TE in Wiederholt (6-6, 266 lbs).  With that said it could end being a long day for UWP.  I hope they can take advantage of not having game next week, get healthy and win out the rest of the WIAC.

Wish I could make it to UWW , but I'll be tailgating for the Badger game.

This has been a crazy week for me, busy as hell and a trip to Minnesota has taken one too many days so we will not be in the Perk tomorrow and I am bumming! To all those who are going, have a great time and I'll try to follow the game on the boards from my IPad as I am traveling!!!        GO WARHAWKS!

IMO, they won't have a problem with becoming one dimensional. Any team with subpar line play will be less than one dimensional - NO dimensional would be more like it.

Pulled this quote from the comments of Montee Ball yesterday when he described the Badgers' offense philosophy:

"We try to impose our will on our opponents, keep pounding them until the other team gives up."

How apropos.  Sounds like something Levell Coppage could say as well.

Following up on the UWEC @ Stout game "War on 94". Being new at this... I hear mention of a trophy.  Has anyone seen this trophy?  And does said trophy include any of the following: asphalt, an orange construction cone, speed limit or highway sign?  If not it should!   BTW EC by 10.

Actually, the 02 Warhawk blog has a picture of some Stout Blue Devils holding up what looks to be an I94 road sign fashioned into a

trophy of some sort.  Not sure if it's the official game trophy.

Personally, I think a Jersey Barrier would make a great trophy, as well!! Chances are it will never get stolen & it could be put to use in a parking lot on campus during and after the season.  ;)
I know you (we?) Cheeseheads are strong, but wouldn't an Orange Barrel be easier to hoist?
Thanks for the photo....after seeing it I like the orange barrel idea  It could almost be fashioned as a common version of the Stanley Cup.  Just put a little gold/orange bowl on top.  Kidding aside, I applaud the idea of the trophy to support the rivalry.  It may not be an axe, but the highway sign is a fun touch.  It adds to the game.  The WIAC should have a couple more trophy games...or do they?  What could we come up with......hmmm....

Platteville and Whitewater are playing for the Miner's Pick this weekend, in what is called the George Chryst Memorial Bowl.
