Sorry missed what happened to Wara....I missed that.

Apparently so did the posters watching the game and posting to the update board.
From the play by play, it might indicate that Wara was injuried at the 4:33 mark of the second quarter. Wara ran a play and was stopped for no gain by Corey Marks and Jacob Zilbar. Oshkosh called a time out. Following the time out, Nick Olla replace Wara at QB (first play was a 45 yard reception by Garrie Fox that eventually led to a 26 yard FG and 17-0 Osh lead.). Wara never returned. Olla finished the game at QB for the Titans. It wasn't until after the half when Wara didn't return that speculation about a possible Wara injury was mentioned. The game recap from Platteville doesn't mention it. Oshkosh hasn't posted a recap as of this time.

*Maybe something along the lines of:
Stout @ Whitewater -34.5
Eau Claire @ La Crosse +6
River Falls @ Stevens Point -4.5
Oshkosh @ Platteville +10

No way I think Patteville is the favorite like the OAC has it...sorry Mr_Mom. UWO is playing too good and UWP is banged up, however maybe the bye week healed some key injuries.

*Spreads are subject to be WAY off.

Stout @ Whitewater -34.5 (UWW by 21)
Eau Claire @ La Crosse +6 (UWEA by 10)
River Falls @ Stevens Point -4.5 (UWSP by 21)
Oshkosh @ Platteville +10 (UWO by 21)

I picked the correct winners. However, I only got one line within 10 points  :-[

Coach Leipold said he sprained his ankle. The X-rays were negative, but it didn't sound like he knew much more in terms of if/how long he would be out.  He just made a general comment like: "You never know about those things (sprained ankles).

Well that's good news, at least it's nothing too serious. Hopefully we can get Josh Williams back for the Oshkosh game, if Arnold can't go.

I think this will be a VERY close game next week.  :-[
Not if Wara doesn't play....  It appears he is out with an injury today against Platteville.

That's unbelievable..I was out most of the day, so didn't really follow any games today.

I hope BOTH Wara and Arnold return for Saturday's game.

Anybody see the Wara play??? Was it serious???

Where is UWPSUPERFAN when we need him/her?

The The Northwestern article recapping the game doesn't specify what kind of injury was sustained or it's severity. Just says he was injuried while being tackled, the way I described it in an earlier post when I analyzed the play by play account. The newspaper story says Titan Coach Pat Cerroni said he hoped, much like you 02, that Wara would be ready to face Whitewater next Saturday, but wasn't quoted on it. I personally think that's about the most understated, obvious statement Cerroni could have made in this circumstance. Everyone associated with UW-O hopes Wara is able to play next saturday vs UWW.  It's quite probable the only way the Titans have a chance to keep the game within 3 scores. Not much is known about the backup Nick Olla.  Cerroni made the comment following the game that "...Nick did a great job...[of] not trying to be the hero." That can be interpreted a couple different ways. However, with Wara going down before the end of the first half, it was the defense that became the headliner for the Titans on this day.

What do you think about this question 02 Warhawk, who would be the bigger loss to their team, Wara to Oshkosh or Arnold to UWW if they were unable to play? OR at less than 100% effectiveness?

BoBo the Greek's early line is set at UW-O (+17.5).  I'm seeing a score of 35-17.

I wonder if a Titan loss to UWW without Nate Wara would make a difference in playoff selections (if both win their remaining games)?

I think it will make absolutely zero difference. Losing a key component to a team - like a starting QB to injury - is not a part of the playoff criteria. They make it or don't make it by virtue of their won-loss record, in-region record, and strength of schedule. I am certain there are no provisions in the playoff criteria to discount or forgive a loss (losses) when playing without a star player.

Even though Arnold is a pres-season All American, I think Wara being out would be a HUGE blow to UWO. abviously he's their leading passer, but he's also their leading rusher.

BoBo,

"IF" Wara is healthy and plays, this game will be much closer than many believe, IMHO! :)

^^ What do others believe?  What do you believe? How much closer than +17.5? I've said what I think, though, I think it may be too low.  Give me a number, I'm all ears...!! Doubt we'll know if Wara is healthy and plays until game time; same goes for Greg Arnold.

Never been to Oshkosh, but going Saturday. What is the tailgating situation?  How are the visitor stands?  Any news on Greg Arnold?  I hear he was moving better yesterday.

Wara "healthy" = UWW by 3 touchdowns

Wara not playing = UWW by 5 touchdowns

Raider 68 likes to give the opposition the utmost respect, almost to the point of over-valuating their abilities.  If UWO makes it a game, it means that UWW is having a bad, turnover laden, football game.

WarhawkDad,
Home and visitors share the same grandstand as the picture illustrates (unless something has changed). As we learned, they are going to try to set a new stadium attendance record - so get in there early for choices seats!!  ;)

There isn't much tailgating in Oshkosh from what I've seen.

Yes, Raider 68 is the absolute King of this.  However, both these teams are technically the opposition...but he seems to be siding with the Titans in this one.  I have to check what kind of record R 68 has in picking games straight up!!  ;)

What about parking?  I see a couple of dinky lots, lots of fields and tennis courts, and residential streets on the satellite pic ....
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

There's a bank (I think it's a bank) and another business a block away that have large parking lots they use. There's probably other places in the vicinity too but those are two I know of.
