I'm optimistic that both Wara and the UWW injured player will be ready for Saturday...that way there is no excuse by any parties after the outcome of the game  8-)

I hope they both play.  But I will go on record right now as saying that losing Baldwin is absolutely no excuse for losing to UW-O.  I'm not saying the loss wouldn't hurt UW-W (Baldwin is a great player) and I'm not saying UW-O is not a good team.  But UW-W wins as a team and if and when they lose, they will lose as a team.  I believe UW-O will get UW-W's best effort Saturday.  If the Titans are good enough to win.  Hats off to them and move on to next week.  No excuses.

BoBo,

In response to your question on how close will the UWW-UW0 game be, I posted that if Wara is healthy, it would be a close game. My view is that it could be 14 pts in favor of UWW. They beat UW-Stout by 21, so isn't Osh a td better especially at home. As far as picking games straight without points, I am only on the OAC and MIAA (no points) pick em's. :)

I think he meant Arnold, considering Baldwin never lost to Oshkosh.

I'm relying on you to provide the inside scoop on Wara.

Unfortunately, I may dissapoint in my digging up the scoop...I don't think Coach C would be willing to forward my calls to the athletic training department for questionning  ;D

I believe that is who bp was referring too.  He had a foot injury at one point a couple years ago and was out, so maybe bp got the two confused......but bp will have to provide that answer.

Technically, I know who That Baldwin is.  I thought that maybe there was a nickname or something involved for an injured UWW player that I was unfamiliar with.

As for impact on the game, I think most agree losing a QB as good as Wara is probably the tougher loss.  I will add though that losing a MLB that hits like Arnold against a team with a running QB will be a big loss to UWW.  Over the years we've seen the impact our LB's have had on QB's that choose to run.

Come back both of you.

Arnold's value isn't just a matter of how hard he hits or how many tackles he gets in a game.  He is the leader of the defensive unit and his leadership and presence is probably just as important as his tackles are.  Fortunately the linebacking corp has been playing pretty well and we have some depth at those positions. We're better with Arnold on the field but we'll be ok if he isn't able to go.

It just scares me a little what Stout's offense was able to do in that third quarter when Arnold was out.

That's what I get for trying to post on a very short break during a busy morning!  ;) Not sure quite why Baldwin was on my mind, but yes, I was thinking of Arnold.  Hopefully Baldwin is just fine! Anyway, point remains the same.

I agree with this 100%.  I do feel like there was some discombobulation when Arnold first went out.  Stout definitely had great success in the third quarter.  I have to think his leadership and experience would have helped.  But the good news is the "D" recovered and played well in the fourth.  UW-W also has a week to prepare and coach knowing "Baldwin" (AKA Arnold) may not be available.  My guess is the gaps were the result of alignment or assignment mixups, not a physical mixup (correctible).  However, if without Arnold, surely the linebackers will be especially tested given UW-O's propensity to run gimmicks.
