"A trick play is when the center hikes the ball to the quarterback who then huddles with two other offensive players until one of them emerges with the ball.  They don't necessarily tuck the ball under their jersey but that's a trick play."

Wasn't there a pro football player that said something to the effect "I'd just tackle the whole pile and throw them out until I found the one with the ball"?

I wonder whether Oshkosh's option offense comes from the addition of John O'Grady, former Falcon coach, to their coaching ranks. O'Grady ran the wishbone at RF for years before he abandoned it about three years before he retired. I looked earlier on the Oshkosh site,  but could not find him listed as an assistant coach.

There are a lot of good posters on the high school forum on Wissports, but the D3 board is a waste of time.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Dubuque football VS UWW and the WIAC ---Not even worth the comparison!  Even UW-RF would do well against Dubuque!!!

I am not sure the fascination with Stan!  I believe that Lance was a better choice by far, than Stan would have been.  If UWW had chosen Stan Z., they would have come back to the rest of the conference.

I posted some write-ups on this week's WIAC Matchups, as well as my game of the week (which should come as no surprise)

UWW should have advantage on the defensive side with Coach O's option offense.  They have Kevin Bullis running their front seven.  He worked with Coach O throughout most of his years of running the bone and defending it during practice.

Agree completely!  How far has Dubuque gone in the DIII Playoffs or for that matter the IIAC?    >:(

Do well? Perhaps, depending on your definition of doing well. But I think this year's Dubuque team is capable of finishing third or so in the WIAC. Even if a Zweifel-coached Warhawks team would have regressed slightly (and that's certainly possible), a Zweifel-coached, -recruited and -receiving Dubuque team is a huge improvement.

I know of several people, myself included, who wouldn't mind seeing a WHITEWATER/DUBUQUE matchup in the post season.

It seems rather useless to compare stats between teams. Is it just me or has UWW been generally conservative this year? Coppage could be running for quite a bit more. We could run up the score easily in many games but Coach calls off the dogs once the game is in hand. Its the big picture, the long term game plan. Has Coppage even played in the 4th quarter yet this year? His stats and Blanchards could easily be much higher if that was what Coach L wanted, stats. It isn't. I'm good with it. Some of the teams that have outrageous stats nationally would be crushed by UWW midway in the 1st quarter, but hey, look at those stats.

Looking at Dubuque stats is very nice. Its great to see Stan getting his team playing well and I wish him the best luck. I played for the man, his intensity was off the charts. I never had a coach like that. I really liked him. However, there is no doubt that Leipold came to town with some tremendous experience that certainly is paying off. I think long term the Hawks are best with Leipold. Coach Z is no slouch either, but the Hawks are in the most capable hands.
