C'mon, 02 - don't start that now.

I mean, you are right as rain.  I'll never forget last year's bracket show where UWW got the royal shaft, and clearly it can happen again.  But let's win homecoming, and then finish out the season.

We could end the year with something like 15 conferences featuring undefeated teams as of now.  That's just a bit mind-boggling, so let's not go there.  (yet)

Yea, you're right....Now that we're entering the whole regional rankings portion of the year, it just got me thinking....

....which is not a good thing.

Now I have to prepare for my tailgate tomorrow.  Feel free to stop by.  Sounds like 02 is kicking my butt in the hospitality department.   ;) :D ;D

Ha....I doubt that.

It's all you tomorrow, I can't make that game, I have too much stuff going on tomorrow. Including going to work at 7 a.m.  >:(

Come looking during the la crosse game in two weeks. we are usually around the northwest corner of the perking lot (down the last row). where do you guys setup shop usually?

Devil Badger Gopher

Best thing of the week was watching the FSN replay of the Stout victory over La Crosse and the commentator who happened to be the QB of the Johnnies in the 2000 playoff game against stout made the comment that the 2000 UW-Stout team was the best team he ever played.  His team lost in the championship to Mt. Union.  He also commented that the Stout defense had a goal to beat the crap out of him each play.

I have read nothing the last few weeks that I would consider disrespectful by any UWW poster, (but, BoBo, you do get just a little patronizing sometimes,)   :-* that should drive several of the new posters away, IMHO.

LOL, you did note the kiss smiley after my comment, right, BoBo.  You are one of most knowledgeable and best posters on here.  No way should you be censored! It would not be the same without you!!!!  Maybe you, (all of us for that matter,) can think about going a little easier on the rookies around here until they get their sea legs!   :-* :-* :-*

We set up on the boulevard between the stadium parking lot and the road that runs in front of it.  Maybe we'll see you in two weeks.   8-)

Yeah 413 and a bunch of us are on the parkway between the stadium parking lot and Schwager Road.   Due to homecoming the Wrestling team usually moves in and we get displaced a little further to the west, but still on the parkway.

I am going to make this one post regarding posting on this forum and then I will leave it alone (unless I change my mind  ;)). I think part of the fun/spice/variety of the boards is to see the different personalities and posting styles of the different posters. I would really hate for any poster to change how they post.  I also think it's asking too much for each person to be careful with every word or thought.  I have seen ideas attacked. I have not seen people attacked.

A couple of years ago, PurpleSuit (one of the Mount posters that isn't afraid of coming after you with an edge) and I went at it pretty hard.  He slammed my thoughts pretty hard and I slammed his thoughts pretty hard. I think some of the edgier exchanges can be a fun change of pace from the usual dialogue.

Personally, I am fine with any of the folks posting whatever they posted. If I strongly disagree with them, I may hit them with an edgy response. But I defend their right to say what they want.  I'm good with the folks who rip the UW-W posters. Im good with the folks who rip them back.  It really should be all for fun.

Here's my 2 cents worth: The burden should be on the reader of the posts to "go with the flow" as 02 says, not on the poster to post a certain way.  People should feel free to express whatever personality they want on this board in my opinion. (My only exception to this is regarding the current D3 athletes.  I think personal attacks of D3 athletes should not be tolerated.  I suppose the exception to this could be if one of them were to make the mistake of entering the fray.)

If new posters could adhere to 3 simple principles, they could live very happily on these boards for a long time:

1. Don't EVER take anything anyone posts too seriously.
2. Don't EVER take yourself too seriously.
3. Don't EVER take Seventiesraider too seriously  ;)

Hello All,
Seeing the fballfan and blugold thread tells me this is a good time to return after a self-imposed black out period.
I put myself in the corner for two reasons- First, I was completely disrespectful to WarhawkDad in my reply to him, and for that WD, I apologize because I was wrong.  I was frustrated from a series of issues and took it out on you for no good reason.  A cooling off was needed.  Second, I needed some discipline.  I work at a desk often so it's easy for me to have the message board open.  Posting briefly is OK, but I was getting too wrapped up in detail, which took me away from the job that pays.  I think I am fully recovered now.

Allright, that covered.  In support of fballfan and blugold let me say this.  413 and WD- both of you posted about being corrected on this board.  With all due respect (and I do respect both of you), fballfan and blugold aren't talking about correcting "Junior" to "Senior".  As a guy that has given opinion on the OAC board and supported it with what I believe to be fact- I know first hand what it's like to be the recipient of replies that border WAY TOO CLOSE to personal attacks- and are flat out disrespectful-(let alone completely lacking objectivity).  I caution all on this board to pay a little more attention to the words you use- especially to non UWW'ers or those that post contrarion purple.  This isn't a "toughen up or stick it out" issue, this is reality.  The proof is in the message boards, so don't make me take the time to copy and paste to prove it because now that I'm refreshed and off the clock, I will.

I know this is just a message board and it's supposed to be fun.  But football is an emotional game and an emotional subject- and this is the WIAC board first, not the UWW board.  Those on this WIAC board are my teammates, my friends.  Should some out of conference poster (and there are so many creative descriptions I'd like to add right here) come on this board and disrespect one of you in a blatant way, I would consider myself a putz if I did not post in support of you.  That's just the way I roll.

So- How about them Hawks?
-My opinion- The UWW coaching staff may be doing their best job to date.  This is a Banged Up team and it's relying on many guys to step up and make contributions.  The team is playing with all the confidence of a champion in spite of the obstacles- very fun to watch.
-I posted prior to the season that I believe the gap is closing between the top 2 and the "2nd tier" teams.  So far I think it looks that way.  This opinion is in no way an insult to UWW; in fact it's a great complement to UWW- and Mt.  Other teams are working hard and following big picture plans and they are forcing the top 2 to play through adversity.  It is great excitement.  Tomorrow's game, which I'll sadly miss, is filled with uncertainty- isn't this better than kicking the crap out of every team?  Just imagine what a loss every now and then would do for the excitement level ;)

BTW- I was at the Oshkosh game, sorry but I can't resist.  How about all them "gimmick, gadget and trick" plays Oshkosh needed to run in order to stay with UWW?  And oh, they just don't play a lick of defense on that team do they?  Damn that felt good!   ;D

Funny Bleed, you posted this while I was posting my homecoming post.  Like they say, great minds think at the same time.
You and I disagree on some of your points, but that's cool.  I see things a little differently- I probably watched too many John Wayne movies that make me want to circle the wagons the first sign of a possible enemy.

I was hoping my WIAC football blog would help surface some other WIAC fans (outside of Whitewater) to this board....I don't think it's working out that way though.  :-\

For what it's worth, I enjoy your blog and bleedpurple's work very much.
