Awesome day at the Perk on Saturday!  Great time seeing old friends and players return for a wonderful Homecoming celebration!  Congrats to the Warhawks on another great win, 7th straight Conference title and to Levell on his new record!  A tremendous athlete and accomplishment!     I, too, was really surprised at the Titans loss to LAX but it is the Wacky WIAC and as I mentioned several times in conversation on Saturday, people sometimes forget how difficult it is, week in and week out, to win games in this conferences.  We, Warhawk fans should never take it for granted. When my family came into the league in 03, UWW was just a top tier WIAC team and that season and the next in 04, we played the Eagles the last game of the season and lost both giving UWLC the conference championship.  It is one of the best rivalry's in D-3, IMHO, so even during their rough patch the last several years, I have never stopped feeling nervous to play the Eagles and with their win against an extremely impressive UWO team, those old feelings will return again for our re-match on the 12th.  Just glad it will be at the Perk.  ;)
413, always good to see you and thanks for saving us a parking spot!   +K   Talk about a tailgate getting displaced.  We are always right on Schwager about 10 cars down from the east entrance to the Stadium Lot and 413 and all of us ended up on the West side of the lot near the baseball field.  LOL  8-)   Homecoming brings backs lots of people who really do not care about the locations of incumbent tailgaters!

It's looks like there was a great crowd on hand for the game Saturday.  I wish I could have been there.  Though I missed the game I did do a D3report of the game on Sunday during the JV game.  Pat has the D3reports linked on the ATN podcast page for everyone to check out.

The WARHAWK JV team beat the Pointer JV team 10-0.  I only caught the second half.  The WARHAWK touchdown came on blocked punt recovered in the end zone.

I am so disappointed for Oshkosh and the WIAC.  I really wanted two WIAC teams to make it to the playoffs.  This is an example of just how tough this conference is this year.  La Crosse had two wins coming into the game, but played everybody tough. Someone mentioned previously (Bobo?) that La Crosse was the best two win team in the country- I think yes.

Nothing is certain in this conference this year and it makes me appreciate what the Hawks have done all the more.
Sorry for Oshkosh and sorry for the WIAC- the conference is worthy of two playoff teams.
I share the disappointment.  I was so impressed when UWW played the Titans two weekends ago and was looking forward to watching them both progress in the playoffs.  The WIAC continues to beat each other up.   While UWW continues to win, the physical toll is evident.   We need to get healthy, quick.

... and the level of competition is not allowing for rest.  I was trying to count all the players that have been injured/missed games- it is at least 10 I believe.  This may be the best example yet of just how good the coaching (including their ability to recruit) is in this program.

EauClaire will be just as tough as the rest.  At the beginning of the season, who would have thought that the last game with La Crosse would shape up to be as difficult as it has the potential to be?

Fred, stoutguy is a myth around here. Only shows up every once in awhile. Although, he is going into the Stout Hall of Fame with the Distinguished Service Award next weekend. I believe he will show for that.  ;D

Congrats Stoutguy

BDB, it looks like your Menominee HS football team will meet my Tomah Timberwolves (aka Indians to us old guys) in L3 action.  I'm hoping Tomah plays a tad better than the first time the two teams met in the first week of this season.

Ha, yes it will be Indians v. Indians......'er Mustangs v. Timberwolves.  ;D  Menomonie was supposed to have their hands full with Marshfield last Friday, but that was a route from the opening kickoff.

413,

Nothing like a Homecoming game and a Victory!+k :)

What's the status with Seaman?? heard he got hurt in the first quarter.

02,

I have heard that Neal Seaman has a torn miniscus (sp) in his left knee. Not sure when he will return. Matt
Piloto (big guy) will take over with a highly touted freshman Kevin Burke getting reps. Hopefully Neal can return, if not Matt Piloto has played alot and has done very well as his stats indicate.

Who knows maybe the Warhawks will see him again! :) ;D

Well, I wasn't going to whine about it but since you brought it up......................  ;)
I don't care about being displaced if it had been by actual tailgaters but we were there by 8:05, (early, I know.  Yes, I'm crazy,) and there were about 7 cars next to the wrestling team's annual Homecoming tailgate right where we always go and no one ever showed up!!!!  Prime real estate went to waste!!!  Why would you park there if it was just for actually parking?   ::)  That did not make me happy but we had a great time in our new, (and hopefully temporary,) locale.  I want my old spot back in two weeks.   ;) :D ;D
