I don't disagree with what has been written since the last post. It was a bit of a left handed compliment, but a compliment nonetheless. I helped to put you over the attendance record so LAY OFF! ;D

If I knew how to do it, I might have a poll that asked which team you think would be the most likely to knock off the Warhawks this year. I would include Linfield, St Thomas, UMHB, NCC, UMU, and maybe a "It ain't gonna happen" choice. It would be interesting to do that for Mt U on the OAC board also. Have to wait for the brackets before putting some of those teams in. Just a poke to get things going here.

Here's the order of likeliness (order of likeliness?  :o) in my opinion.

1. "Ain't gonna happen"
2. UMU
3. NCC
4. Linfield
5. St. Thomas
6. UMHB

I know your poll would probably have us choose only one, but somehow the "Ain't gonna happen" sounds overconfident, so I thought I would register my vote before you figure it out! Thanks for attending Perkins Stadium. Drive home safely.  ;)

Least impressive game I've seen the Warhawks play in the last six years. Many reasons one could attribute it to: Playing a perennial rival, Already clinched  AQ, UWL was stoked because they were playing UWW, UWL wanted to look better after losing to then winless UWRF, looking forward to the playoffs.

At any rate, I'll give them a pass, but, this year could be different.

Given all they've had to play through this year including a conference on the rise, I think it may be their most impressive undefeated season.

Wow, I agree with this. I think you're on to something emma!!

UWL does a great job in slowing Levell Coppage down limiting the senior to 68 yards rushing.

That said - Matt Blanchard torches UWL defense with a 26 for 34 - 269 yard passing performance.

Huber with a 10 catch afternoon.

Back to Coppage - Levell now has 1,185 career rushing attempts. He is now just 5 carries short of tying the record for most career rushes in D3 history. Steve Tardif had 1,190 career rushes for Maine Maritime (1996-1999).

Basketball game breaks out at a NAIA football game. Schools with a combined 5-16 record pad their offensive stats in 3 OT thriller of a game.

Hey bp, [just wondering] have you ever compiled a won/loss record for your blog picks?  Many bloggers keep cumulative weekly & yearly totals on their picks.  Have you considered it?  I think it would be a neat enhancement to mention each week.  Your thoughts?  :)

I might have to agree with retagent on this one (partially)...I wasn't impressed at all with UWW's offense yesterday. Their defense was outstanding...but their offense and Coppage couldn't get into a rhythm at all it seemed like.

However, I was VERY impressed with Huber. He was catching everything thrown in his direction. He made some great grabs. Minus the one he dropped when the ball hit him in the chest  ;)

If that is how the NCAA does it, that would be fine!

I do not want to sound repetitive, but even without the rhythm, they still found a way to win.  Seems to me that teams are following the Warhawk defensive game plan, by trying to make UWW one dimensional.  LAX did a decent job against the run, but the passing game and defense came through.

Personally, I think the defensive performance was most important.  You had the return of #51 who was outstanding and when the starters were on the field, they were fairly dominant.

The offense needs to get healthy and quit having penalties, but we say that every year until the playoffs.

I for one am not as confident about this years team heading into the playoffs. They don't seem to have "it" like previous years teams did. It's been sometime since I saw both sides of the ball clicking on all cylinders.

I think they'll beeze through the first round. Then the second round, I'm guessing, will play out like yesterday's game with a two-score win. Then after that, I think UWW will really struggle against a NCC or Linfield/UST...depending on what region they end up in.

Will someone try to get talk me down from the ledge??  :D

10 years ago my family first became aware of UWW and since then my weekends have been built around Warhawk football.....either attending a game or listening at the computer. Who would have guessed 10 years ago that one day they would have 40 victories in a row and playing for their 4th national championship.....simply amazing. I offer this post as a thank you to all who have participated in this surge of winning and made my weekends so much fun....tailgating around the U.S.A. for 5 years following the Warhawks was awesome and unforgettable. As you approach the playoffs for the 7th year in a row I offer my congrats and my thank you for an unbelievable accomplishment.....Pound the Rock!....

I agree that LaCrosse did an excellent job defending the run.  They seemed to be keying on him and their linebackers flowed to ball well and made sure tackles.  Coppage was held below his average but he did manage 86 yards not 68.

A couple of Huber's catches were jaw dropping.  His father told me that he has a 40" vertical and on a couple of his receptions he clearly out jumped the defenders.  One was particularly impressive when both defenders were draped on him and he went up above them to catch a long pass with his hands above his head.  On that one I just turned to my associates in the scorer's booth and said, "how the hell did he do that?"

Thanks to all the seniors in the conference who finished up their WIAC careers yesterday...

Numerous seniors contributed during their time in school to bring us the games each weekend... Let's see how many roles we can name... ?

Players, coaches, trainers, stats, filmers, grounds crew, tickets, security/ushers, concessions, poms, cheerleaders, band members, media...

I'm sure I've forgotten somebody?
Who else?
Thanks again to all...

Actually voice was right, as Coppage gained 68 yards....  I think you forgot to subtract the -18 yards Copparge lost on carries.
