Seems the opening of deer hunting season has carried over to this board, too.  Very quite considering round #2 of the playoffs is upcoming.

Maybe it's because Franklin College is in on saturday and UWW already beat them handily?  I don't know. It will be interesting how much FC has/hasn't improved since early in this season get together.  They haven't really been tested at any time consistantly throughout their conference schedule. But, they have a better idea what to expect. Their coach has to somehow get that 45-0 score out of his players conscience or it could get ugly again. Hopefully, the Warhawks continue to play aggressively on defense & create turnovers, protect Blanchard & score early and often on offense (with a defensive score or two mixed in for good measure), keep the penalties to a minumum, correct the FG kicking problem of last week, keep people fresh by substituting freely, getting more playing time for LC's freshman back-ups, etc. etc. etc. - did I miss anything?

BoBO,

A special Congrats on your +700 karma! Your contributions speak volumes +k :)

Raider 68 - thanks as always ...you are a rock steady gentleman!! +k back to you

EDIT:  Easy come, easy go...funny how things get taken away!!
I can't bump you up until the 24 hour handcuffs are off.  I'm the one who put your there before. What would you do without 68 and myself?   ;) 8-) :-*

I got your back, BoBo.

Bought my wife to the game on Saturday.  Was actually pretty decent weather for mid-November.  One little misty/sprinkle was not that big a deal - we stayed until UWW took two knees to avoid going over 60 and Albion ran two plays into the line to end it.

Current weather forecast looks like showers and wind.  Doesn't matter, it's a game day and gonna be there.  See you Saturday, 02.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I did my part. I was there with two friends. I did leave when the rain started - but - in my defense, It WAS 45 - 0 at the time.

I heard it rained for all of 3 minutes...no?  ;)

It rained the entire time it took us to get to the car. Call me a wuss if you must.

I would, but at least you showed up!  ;)

Retagent, not only did you show up, you also paid the playoff ticket price.  I brought four guests with me to see the game and we had a great time.
If you ever find yourself getting bored in the stands, one thing you might enjoy is heading all the way down the stadium to the railing.  My son and I spent the entire 2nd half mostly sitting just above the bench for the offense.
You can't help but feel engaged in the game and the score becomes irrelevant as you're watching the guys play that you were just a few feet away from moments ago.

There back to 700-maybe I will get highschool kids together to make another trip to see UWW- but not until the semi-finals. Had some fun times with Flash before the games.

No worries BoBo...It's only Monday, there's still plenty of time to talk about Saturday's game againt Franklin.

I find it hard to believe UWW will roll over Franklin like they did earlier in the year, 45-0. Since the Whitewater game they have been scoring a ton of points. I know they play in a conference that might not be as good as the WIAC. But, that's what good teams are suppose to do against lesser teams...score a ton of points and blow them out. Which is exactly what Franklin has been doing since September 10th.

Don't get me wrong, I still think UWW will win, but I don't think it will be the 45-point rout like earlier in the year.

Actually, I qualify for the Senior rate. I'll miss this weekend, but hope to be back 12/3. (Provided they win Saturday ;))

The reality is that after the game at Franklin, Franklin does not play anyone with the defensive tenacity of the Warhawks or with the size and ability to Pound the Rock.   I will say one very positive thing;  Franklin fans, coaches, players and administrators are class acts.   They treated all of us who drove down for the game just wonderfully.  Their fans walked around the tailgates, talking to us, inviting us over to their tailgates and even at halftime with the game already in hand for UWW, they continued the first class treatement.

Regardless of weather, we will be at the Perk on Saturday.

Now just focus on the thoughts in bold, carry it over week to week, and you will enjoy the road to Salem much than worrying your way through it all!  ;D

If UWW plays the way they did against Albion this Saturday it could easily turn into another 45-0 shelacking but I honestly don't see that happening. Franklin is too good of a team to let that happen again. I see the score being somewhere between 31-10 and 45-17. Close enough game in the first half before UWW pulls away to win comfortably in the second.

Franklin should have a good team next year. Their QB will have experience which should help a lot.

I know exactly what you mean. I remember last year in the playoffs, we had Franklin fans come over and talk to us before the game. Very nice people who know how to tailgate.

Looking forward to this week's game.

That win over Albion is just what the doctor ordered for me...It helped restore my confidence in this team making another deep post-season run.  ;D

I'm just glad Arnold is back and healthy...he's a beast.

A big thanks to Pat and GBMan for working late into the night figuring out a way to get my original game wrap added to the rest of them.  I don't know how you managed but somehow you did and your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Franklin is a well coached an talented team.  They'll be ready and motivated to make the point that they're better than they played in September.  We'll have our hands full and have to play well.

On a side note, don't blame me I was at the game on Saturday. I sat there through the rain and watched UWW roll and I'll be there this coming Saturday against Franklin rain or shine. Unfortunatly I don't see the attendence being any better next week due to Thanksgiving so it'll probably be made up of us who are not students any longer as they will be far away from UWW.

Since the deer hunting opener was the major reason for the sparse crowd at the Perk last Saturday i suggest we have a "blaze orange out" at the Perk for Saturday's second round game vs. Franklin.  Students turned out for the "white out" and "black out" during the regular season - why not a "blaze orange out?"
