BoBo, not sure what would prompt that post

WarhawkDad post followed by wesleydad post!! His is in capital letter, your's is not. Looks like some kind of competition to me.  That's what prompted it...spontaneously...stop looking for some subliminal sinister plot in every post you read. It was intended to show a little comic relief, whimsical humor if you will. If I could, I'd send you a funny bone for Christmas!! Gee wiz, lighten up!!

It was very nice meeting 413 for the first time....despite the crappy weather, we had a great time Saturday.

I didn't quite understand all the chirping the SU players were doing as UWW game out of the lockeroom. Seems to me they got a little in over their head in trying to trash talk to our boys...nice try  :P

Looking at the final four, I believe for the first time in awhile there isn't a clear-cut run-away favorite, but there should be on who's going to make it to Salem this year. I think both Wesley and St. Thomas have a great slight chance to knock off the purple powers this weekend. The Warhawks are going to be in a dog fight with St. Thomas just like they were against Linfield (2009) and NCC (2010). It's going to one of those types of game....which is expected considering it is the semi finals.

Let the two week-long worrying Virginia trip-planning begin   ;D

fixed.  :)

Oh come on. Don't know if we'll get this far again, at least grant us the pleasure of talking $**t to us, before you start with the MUC love fest. Geez

In a way, that is exactly what Bleedpurple is doing.

Lol, touche. But at least SJU fans aren't passive aggressive about telling us we suck. It almost makes me feel worse because it's so dismissive. Well played.

I don't think anyone on this board thinks UST sucks....If they do, then they haven't been paying attention to D3 football this year.

This will be the toughest game for either team this season. By far.

BoBo, seems like you need to lighten up.  I have no issues with the post, just not sure where it came from.  If that is your effort at comic relief. :) Glad I see that the karma hits on the WIAC board continue.  At least some on here are consistent.

I believe I am on record for saying that the true playoff challenge on our side of the bracket has ALWAYS been UST.

I have seen way too many great WIAC teams fall to the MIAC over the years.

Delaware Valley a #1? PLEASE.

This weekends game will be total GROWN MAN FOOTBALL the whole day.

Good colors at least. Gotta respect the purple.

BoBo, not sure what would prompt that post, but since WarhawkDad and I are in the same age bracket, I would agree with him, but I am not much of a fan of checkers or rock, paper, scissors.  Now if we are going to have some real good micro brew beer for the drinking part I am in.  As far as the steel cage match would go, I am not sure if that would be fair since I do not know Warhawkdad's wrestling experience, but I am a wrestling coach.  Since I will be at the Stagg Bowl no matter what, I would be glad to share a good beer with WarhawkDad if he will be there, and you too if you are there.  I dont have issues with the UWW people just differ on opinion at times.
Wesleydad

Good post! +K, we are very similar in more than just age!

If you are coming to the game, pick up some Spotted Cow (or any other beer brewed by New Glarus) which is some of the best small brewery beer I have ever had.  Also, feel free to stop by our tailgate.

Unless Mount Q.B.'s heal, I think Wesley has an excellent opportunity to knock off the Purple Raiders.  I will miss our friends from Alliance if we are fortunate enough to get to Salem, they are certainly a fun group to party with prior to the game.  With the change to Friday night, it will push the real party back to Thursday night and hopefully Friday night after, but first things, first.......the semi-final against what appears to be a very balanced St. Thomas team.

Wesleydad - Let me defend my sports team foe, but "Good Friend", the distinguished gentleman, ahem, ahem, from UWW Land, BoBo. Though he is passionate about his Warhawks, I don't think there is anyone more whimsical on this board than him. If he was any lighter, he's be floating above us all. :D

Coming from a fan's perspective, I am hoping that our run defense is better than anything Coppage has seen before. Interesting nugget, our RB Tobin and Coppage played within 5 miles of each other in HS.

The thing that worries me, is that UST has had trouble "getting it going" early the last few weeks. Once they settle in, they go on cruise control and everything seems to go well. I fear that if it takes 5 minutes for UST to get properly calibrated the game will already be out of hand. The good thing is, if the other squad comes out and gets those first points, it doesn't rattle them and they've responded quickly. Unfortunately, UWW is a foot on larynx kind of team when they get up.

He's seen a lot. Including a Mount Union defense that he's seen three different times (which he tore apart). There's also that NCC defense that had the best defensive player in the country last year. They did a good job on him in Naperville last season in the playoffs.

It sounds like UST has a great defense. He'll probably end up getting somewhere between his season average, and UST's defensive rushing average I'm guessing.

Actually USTBench the running backs schools are just down the street from each other......Tobin from Fenwick(Catholic) and #33 from OPRF(Public).....Two schools never play each other in football....

[It was my understanding that in playoff games, neither team is supposed to mass at midfield. Both teams are supposed to go directly to their own sideline.

I not sure that's the case.  Prior to every playoff game there is a meeting that includes the NCAA rep, both head coaches, athletic directors, SIDs and other game management types including the clock operators.  During the meeting the NCAA rep goes over all of the rules that apply to team activities prior to, during and after the game as well as other game management type topics.  I've sat through quite a few of these meetings and I never heard any mention of a team being required to immediately go to their sideline.  Also I remember one of our opponents a few years ago who massed on our hawk's head before going to their sideline.  This leads me to believe that there is no specific rule and if there was we would be discussing it.  But I haven't checked the rule book so I can't be positive.
