I posted my writeup on what to expect from St. Thomas.

Fourth-Round Matchup

Hopefully I'll have one more of these to write next week  :D

02Warhawk,

In your write up of common opponents, That UST and UW-W played... You mentioned that we played River Falls at home... We played them AT River Falls... I was at that game ....

Yea, I knew Whitewater played at home that game. I guess how I phrased that sentence was a little confusing.

I went back and changed it so it sounds better

Thanks

Your welcome..

Made my Karma run to my Warhawk friends, Planning on bringing the brownies to the Stagg as per usual.  Hoping that we can beat the Tommies this Saturday so that my favorite team arrives in Salem next week.  Will there be a video feed of the game for this VA fan?  I would love to see a game at the Perk even if it's only on the computer screen.  I want to see the O-Liners in action!!  Stone Station should be up and running on the big day.  Come along and join in, bring a dish, or a potable and let's have a good time!!
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

How about an attribution BoBo. Still, can't fault your citation.

413 - The point was, elite teams from the MIAC, NOT EXCLUSIVE of other conferences, are going to probably stack up as well, or better, than elite teams from other conferences. My take going into the Playoffs was that there were 6 or 7 teams capable of winning the Stagg. (UWW, UMU, UST, UMHB, NCC, Linfield, and possibly Wesley) Four are still there. None is a pushover, and the difference in strength is probably closer than in the past 6 - 7 years.

I think the jury is out on whether the difference in strength is closer. The next two weekends will tell.  I am not saying that only on UWW's behalf.

Hey guys,

I have a question about Gagliardi finalist Michael Zweifel.
I understand Zweifel is a Whitewater native. Does anyone know if he was recruited by the Warhawks coming out of high school?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

This post implies that I, somehow, missed or misinterpreted your original post.  I think I was clear that I actually agreed with you that the top of the MIAC is always going to be a formidable opponent and certainly a tougher opponent than many teams at the top of weaker conferences.  I simply corrected your statement that the 06 game against SJU was, "the closest game in the last 7 year Playoff run UWW has had."   ???  ::)  Guess I am missing something but I think we agreed......................

The staff must have overlooked him somehow.  Wonder how in the world that could have happened................... ;) :D ;D

Oh fbf413 being coy...

If you recall 105, five years ago was the moment Brez was retiring and UWW was hiring a new football coach. Michael's dad, then longtime offensive coordinator of the Warhawks was one of the finalist for the job, and probably front runner to many fans that frequented these pages. As we all know, that position was eventually offered to and accepted by LL. The discussion that resulted was exhausting and extensive by EVERYONE. IMO, from the comments at the time of those close to the program, Father Zweifel was devastated that he didn't get the job that he long thought was probably his for the taking (as Brez's longtime assistant). I'm pretty certain, as a result, that sort of ended any interest younger Z had in Whitewater. If I remember correctly, fbf413 mentioned that members of the Warhawks had spirited battles in practices with a then high school Michael and they all knew he was a player. Long story short, he ended going to UW-River Falls, due in part to the fact it was his dad's alma mater and he was going to go back into coaching with the Falcon's under O'Grady, an old college teammate, I believe. The rest of the story is well documented.

Thanks BoBo- it seems to ring a bell now that you explained it.
We would have welcomed him at SJU  ;)
