It's a football game that I have no control over. Why would I worry?  Don't confuse that with raising children.

Apples and oranges - both are fruit but that's about where the similarity ends.

It's all semantics anyway.

Actually, I wish I was more like Bobo and Bleed and not worry so much.  I am going to blame it on genetics or other experiencial events.

I think what worries me is the unknown.  For instance, I don't worry about the coaches putting together a great plan or the oline playing smashmouth or M-Blanch playing to the best of his ability or the linebackers flying around the field and all the rest of the team playing really hard and well (is this a run on sentence?).  I worry about the opponent doing something or being something unexpected.  Is Mt's secondary faster/better in coverage than we can handle?  Are Mt's dlinemen more disruptive than we can overcome?  Is Mt's passing game more effective than we can handle?  Is Jeremy Murray going to present more of a challenge than expected?

So many questions- so much to worry about.

Hey Bleed- I just saw you on ESPN 3- they showed you, Coach Brez and Coach Perkins watching the UWW v St. Thomas game.  You're famous now- and since I've hung out with you at tailgates, that kind of makes me a groupie.

Someone was talking a couple days ago about LL's appearance on the Tim Brando Show. Asked about a link, but I don't think one was ever posted. HERE one is.

I think Bobo's right. We probably ARE talking about semantics.  To me, those are the things that make it FUN! Those are the reasons I wanted UW-W to play Mount.  But for those who are predisposed to worry, I'll answer the questions for you, so you can just enjoy the next couple of days before the game:

Will Mount do something unexpected? Of course they will.

Is Mt's secondary faster/better in coverage than we can handle? Umm, they gave up 350 yards passing LAST WEEK.  Can pretty much promise you they are not.

Are Mt's dlinemen more disruptive than we can overcome? Very unlikely given the match-up of the trenches over the past 7 years. But if they are at first, very little chance they will be by the late 3rd and 4th quarter.

Is Mt's passing game more effective than we can handle?   Now you are just flat out grasping at straws! ;)

Is Jeremy Murray going to present more of a challenge than expected? It depends on what you expect. He will get some yardage between the 20's. He won't take over the game.

Relax and enjoy Friday night. It's going to be a good night!  ;)

Great article on our speculator QB and Gags finalist.  So happy for and proud of Matt and his terrific family!  They have been an unexpected gift to my WARHAWK experience and to the program!  Now go experience winning your first championship on the field, Matt!   :-*

I had a supervisor once, who's nickname was Rockhead. He and one of my colleagues were having a discussion about what should go into his report. Frustrated, Rockhead says, "Well, put in what you want,  It's all a matter of schematics."

Hence, the nickname.

All this worrying/caring discussion.  It really does translate differently for different people.  For me, I too, would subscribe to the, "nervous excitement," description that WD mentioned. I completely believe in this team and that they can and will bring home another Walnut and Bronze but remember, my, "experiential events," date back to the 05 team.  I was absolutely convinced we would win that year and when we didn't, I was certain that we would rectify that mistake in 06.  Then in 07, after a loss to St. Cloud and some too-close-for-comfort wins, I was just thrilled to be there!!!  I remember my son saying to me in 07, "you know, we are going to win this game, Mom," and I smiled and said, "of course, we are, Honey!"   ;) It wasn't until the last 3 minutes of the game that I realized his prediction had come true!  SOOOO........Do I believe we are going to win!!! Absolutely!!!  Do I have, "nervous excitement," that we could not?  Yup..........it's Mount Union and LK after all!  Just don't tell me that anyone who doesn't worry, doesn't care. I do miss my inside info/Thursday night scouting report that I use to get before every game.  That would always settle my nerves because I would say that those who are more informed have the luxury of worrying less.  8-)
