And where in the heck is 17?? :-\
Emma drove from Salem to DC for some site seeing.
Ah, glad to know his absence is due to more fun.  I am betting he had his share in Salem.    ;) ;D

Hi all, back from a great trip.  Lots of football talk to come but first. With the season ended and seniors having played their last game, I want to say I'm going to truly miss some of the greatest people I've ever met- the parents and family members of these seniors.  I know there are countless stories about this group of seniors, but I'll share two non football related that I witnessed that left a lasting impression of these kids.
After the Salisbury game the players came out of the locker room to greet their supporters. As usual, Logan Allemand had a big group of supporters there. Before hugging every supporter there, this 6'3", 310 pd man walked up to his father, grabbed him and gave him a giant kiss- a kiss. I have two sons and watching that literally brought a tear to my eye.
The second story was watching Matt Blanchard walk off the field after the St Thomas game. His  brother Derek came down the ramp to the field and I watched two brothers give each other the most sincere bear hug you'll ever see.
There are many other great families that make up this senior class and I want to thank each and every one of them for their commitment to UWW and the joy they've brought to me and many people around me.

Congratulations WARHAWKS! LL has won more national championships than he's lost games.......... btw, how do I change the signature again? I need to add something  ;D

Was just thinking of the irony of your Coach Z not getting that job, LL's amazing success, and Z's son being the best d3 player this year.  Would be interesting to know how things would have been any different in WW.  Pretty difficult to predict that things could have been any better than they are right now.

I think things worked out for the best. LL proved why he got the job over Z. PP made the right chioce.

Besides, in little Z's Gagliardi trophy interview with Keith, he mentioned how he always wanted to go away for college and get out of Whitewater. So if Z got the job as UWW head coach, there's was no gaurantee Michael would have been a Warhawk then.
It'd be pretty difficult to say what would have been possible but I'm happy for our success and also that Z is successful somewhere. Dubuque went from obscurity to conference champions. It takes a heck of a coach to accomplish what each of them have done. At the end of the day.........the Warhawks win!

Watching the Packer/Chief game...I think it's bad offense weekend for Wisconsin teams. Didn't think losing Jennings could make things so frustrating!!  Ouch.

Warhawks won, hope the Pack can come back from their sleepwalk.

We ALL had our share of fun ; ;D  The tailgate while wet was a lot of fun.  The Cornerstone Bar & Grill loaned Emma a pop up canopy and a bunch is us congregated under it and then signed the banner provided to us by the bar.

Spent time in downtown Roanoke yesterday and today and the businesses were not happy with the game on Friday night.  They lost their big pre-game party night.

I was kind of surprised on the offensive play calling later in the game. Looks like they got extremely conservative. Blanchard only attempt one pass in the fourth quarter
Overall the offense's were not very good. Mount Unions was due to an injury to the QB who reinjuired a previous injury. While I believe Whitewaters was by design. Sort of the old Wisconsin Badger philosophy of lets not beat ourselves and punt if needed.
I talked to the HC I work for down south and he said he realizes how WW is so good they don't make mistakes, don't commit stupid penalties, and they don't beat themselves. However their offense was BORING. He thought they were a little more risk taking back in 07 and 08,and I agreed as I think coach Zebrowski took more chances offensivly, where know it's  a more conservative approach by design of the HC and OC.

I didn't think they were boring or too conservative either.  UMU stopped them pretty consistently.  It wasn't easy out there.

BTW - I know there is a lot of talk about size and such, but it is discipline that wins and the UWW defense was particularly fun to watch.

I saw this on footballscoop.com. Not sure how accurate it is but congrats to coach Gehring if it is true. Midland University (NAIA - NE): We hear Wisconsin Whitewater quarterbacks coach Josh Gehring has accepted the head coaching position at Midland.

I am pretty much done with the Packers.  They lost. I really have no tolerance for that in a team that I follow.  ;D

bleed - that would be funnier if it didn't have a grain of salt in it :o

I guess we all like to think that the guys on OUR team, and the fans of OUR team are the best. It seems that the larger picture is that, for the most part, we d3 followers can all believe that, and all be fairly close to the truth.

Mr. Ypsi

I couldn't quite decide which was stranger - Green Bay losing to a team with a losing record, or Indianapolis beating a team with a winning record!  (Though not nearly as strange as if the Pack lost directly to the Colts! ;D)

As a Lions fan, I'm grateful to KC - since GB has now not yet clinched home field throughout the playoffs, they should be even more determined against the Bears than they always are!  (And, then, having clinched home field but no longer unbeaten, they can relax against the Lions in the final game! ;))

Sorry Ret.  Didn't mean for it to be a salty tidbit to any of our neighbors.  I was just struck by the enormity of both teams' streaks.

Regarding the conservative nature of the playcalling, UWW had a time of possession advantage of just under 9 minutes for the game, but I think UWW had nearly a 10 minute TOP advantage at halftime.  Obviously things changed in the second half and I look forward to watching the video to get a better feel.

From my viewpoint, I felt UWW should have had three scores in the first half, but simply made mistakes. In the second half the offense sputtered and I couldn't tell if it was mostly because of the defense or if the play calling really did turn extra- ordinarily conservative.
