According to the ESPN Draft Tracker UW-Whitewater's Matt Blanchard (QB), Levell Coppage (RB), Kris Rosholt (Punter), Casey Casper (Long Snapper) have drawn quite a bit of interest from NFL scouts in recent weeks.

I don't believe this to be true. Didn't Kmic have a few more than that? Maybe Raider 68 or k'Dad has the number handy.

Kmic had 125 rushing TDs and 130 total TDs in his career.

Bobo and Kira & Jaxon's Dad, thanks for acting as my editor this morning.  Not sure why I wrote that Coppage finished his career as No. 1 in career TDs.  I've edited my post to reflect that Coppage finished No. 2 in both career TDs and  career rushing in Division III.

By the way... early poll results on which Warhawk is most likely to be signed by an NFL team later this month?
Casey Casper 7 votes, Levell Coppage 2 votes,  Matt Blanchard and Kris Rosholt 1 vote each (as of 8 a.m. today)

WFAW radio in Fort Atkinson lost a legend this morning.  Lew Wendlandt, an original member of WFAW since the station signed on in 1962, died early this morning at the age of 86.

Lew and longtime partner, Rocky Rukdaschel, were the original broadcast partners that aired UW-Whitewater football to area sports fans. Lew and Rocky broadcast Warhawk football games for 15 years beginning in 1962.

footballscoop is reporting a possible situation within the football program at UW-Stevens Point. Here's what they have to report:

"Wisconsin Stevens-Point (D-III): At the end of March UWSP posted their head coaching position. At that time, sources close to the program told us this was a "formality" as long time head coach John Miech had stepped down the the University quickly promoted Tom Journell to head coach in December. However, we have heard from multiple sources recently that something is afoot at UWSP. We've heard that two defensive coaches have announced within the last week that they are leaving the program. Perhaps the posting isn't just a formality. We'll keep you posted."

BoBo,

K' Dad responded first, but I did know it was 125 and 130 TD's for Kmic. Hope those mentioned Warhawks get a shot at the NFL. Would it not be interesting to see a Warhawk and Raider on the same NFL team!! :) :) ;D

I would settle for one in the NFL, period!!   ;)  Getting more than one in a training camp would exceed my expectations.

BoBo,

Good point! Getting to training camp is a milestone, getting out it as part of the "53" is another. Kyle Miller knows that, but maybe he can make it  stick with the Colts after they signed him. :)

Heads up UWW fans. UW-Milwaukee might be coming after your AD again. They passed on him last time and failed. They might be coming back for a second chance.

UWM had Plinske as their top choice last go-around until a behind the scenes mover/shaker pushed them towards Costello.  Since he's been dumped this fast, he was an obvious bust.  I'd be surprised if they don't hire Plinske.  They do have some oddballs over there so stranger things are possible, but .....
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I was at the game last night and yes they were honored. My friends all looked to me and said, "Isn't that the team that kicked your *ss each year you played at UWO?!". I told them it was half true...that we won once and a couple others were close games. They are also no longer my friends.  ;)

BoBo, 413, 02, bleedpurple, BadgerWarhawk, Emma, other UWW supporters,

IF there was a poll on which UWW RB was the best, how would the poll be out of say 100 pollsters, Beaver or Coppage? And who would come in third? :)
I've been following this web site since 05' Both Beaver abd Coppage were incredible backs with incredible numbers.  I saw Beaver in person in the 05' play off game against Wesley "KABOOM".  Never saw Coppage in person,  (work prevented me from doning so)  I did play with T. Talton and he was one of the fastest people I have ever known.  If he had not been injured  in the 1st game of the 1990 season against UWL who knows what numbers he would have put up.  He was not the same when he came back in 91'  but was still able to get a free agent chance w/ the bears.  I wish I had the hilight tape from 1988  crazy speed!!!  Just on total accomplishments I would go Beaver, Coppage and then Talton.  I know that Voice or BW can attest to Talton's speed.

Good luck to all the D3 candidates tonight and tomorrow in the draft......hopefully a few of them will get a chance to show what they can do......I think Blanchard can do it if he gets a chance......Pound the Rock.......
