Looks like it's a no-go for the 2011 Stagg Bowl DVD, unless you want to fork over $150. :o

I received this email today:

Thank you for your inquiry. We are no longer creating new titles as the NCAA On Demand web site is no longer live. There are some historical titles still available for sale via Amazon.com.

That said, we do not have footage from the 2011's DIII Men's Football Championship in our system, but I can reach out the NCAA to determine if they have it in their archive and can send it our way.

For your reference:

We can dub games straight to DVD for a cost of $150.00 per game/broadcast. As a disclaimer: There is no production with a straight dub. This means there will be no case or disc artwork, chapters, menu screen, etc. It will be a DVD dub of the game as it was broadcast, delivered in a plain, DVD case.

Please let me know if you'd like to proceed, and I will reach out to the NCAA.

That's not the NCAA. That's T3Media.

The first and still most accurate description of the D3 Championship BeltTM thread.

Not sure how acurate that statement is. I would imagine the NCAA contracts with vendors, in this case, the production company (T3Media), to manage the video program. If they don't give the rights to the content, the production company isn't in business producing video for the NCAA. As the woman said, they don't have the game footage, probably because the NCAA holds the copyright to it. She even said they would have to go back to the NCAA to see if they possess the game in their archives. IF, and that's a BIG IF, they are able to get it from the NCAA, the $150 cost is probably priced to discourage anyone from requesting it. I wouldn't blame the messenger, in this case.  The NCAA is ultimately responsible for their championships and rights to it and don't give it away for nothing!!  The game was on ESPN and I bet even they can't use it without express written consent of the NCAA - remember the famous disclaimer during every game?

Raiders and Warhawks getting some love

Good find 17!  I've been pushing hard for ESPN Gameday coverage of Mount-UWW for the past seven years!   The past two years I've gotten the following answer from ESPN- "great story, but..."    Hopefully the Gameday producers will come out from under a rock!

UW-Stevens Point has announced the three finalists for the head football coaching position to succeed long-time coach John Miech, who stepped down in December.  The three candidates will be on campus this week for interviews with the search committee.

The three finalists include Pointers interim coach/defensive coordinator Tom Journell, Allen Curtiss of Ferris State University and former Winnipeg Blue Bombers coach Mike Kelly, whose last stop was with the Canadian Football League.

GameDay probably thinks that attending one DIII game every few years is good enough. When DIII usually gets GameDay it's usually a 100+ year rivalry game out East. I guess I don't blame ESPN considering 95% of their fan base are DI fans.

But I would have to admit, it would be cool to see them at the Stagg Bowl or, even cooler, The Perk. I see them coming to a St. Johns/St. Thomas game in Collegeville before they come to Whitewater.

Does St. Johns still field a football team???

thoughts?  I took all returning rb's from the WIAC indy stats page and included Ward bc he will get all the carries Coppage had in the past.

Sweeney is my choice. He has the size...plus he's no longer sharing carries this year (Olsen graduated).

Desmin Ward will probably get NONE of the carries Coppage had in the past!!  LOL

This proves how a simple stat sheet can be misleading and worthless in trying to predict the future.

IF he returns, I imagine he's third on the returning players depth chart behind Byron Stanford and Colton Sweitzer. I bet Kominiko Sila gets more carries in '12 than Ward!!

I believe Dez Ward will bring a lot to the table for the Hawks this season
