Best of luck, Tom.  I'll be sending you as many positive vibes that I can from the Pacific Northwest.  Keep fighting!

So will they put that puppy on their helmets, or stick with the SP?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

New logo looks like a dog's head mounted on a hunters wall.

Awesome for Blanchard!

Not as awesome for voice - but we know voice - he will stay positive and hang tough.  I think he'll be supporting UWW football for a long and happy stretch well into the future.  Best Wishes, Tom.

Have to say...I'm not at all a fan of the new logo.

I don't know if that cartoon looking dog was much better.

My take on it is this... The mascot is what it is. You only have so many things you can do with it.

The old Stevie Pointer was fine for what it was, but it was dated and it really wasn't used as a logo on too many uniforms that I can think of.

The new logo has some more FIGHT in it. Not to say that any logo will (or should) strike fear in opponents... but it seems more appropriate, perhaps, as the logo for the university sports teams.

The old logo was more appropriate for the cheerleaders logo... and with the athletic success that SP has had over the years, I think that the cheerleaders are not exactly what you want to think of.

I mean, at least they cheer hard, right?

The new logo is 21st century and smart marketing!!

The logo needed an update, and I'm glad they aren't totally getting rid of the Stevie Pointer character. He's cute, the kids love him and not everything about sports needs to be mean and fierce every second.

I don't think it's the greatest logo I've ever seen, but I think it's pretty good. Plus you get a little boost in T-shirt and apparel sales. That's why some pro teams change their logo and look nearly every other season (I'm looking at you NBA).

Plus they altered the look of their helmets a few weeks before the new logo came out.

Picture this helmet with the new dog:
