I was planning on heading down to the game in St. Louis and visit my grandparents that live in MO. Then I find out it's the weekend my cousin is getting married, happy for her but annoyed that now I can't see the game in person.  >:(  :P

Booked our hotel room in St Louis last night.

I'm neutral on the uniforms and don't see any reason why they should be changed.  However they do have a new coaching staff heading the program so maybe he'd want to make a change to disassociate with the past.  Personally I think that would be a bad decision and I suspect quite a few PSU fans would be upset about it.  I'm of the opinion that the fan base with for the most part will rally around the team and honestly I'll be surprised if attendance is significantly impacted.

As a State Farm associate I think the company did the right thing in pulling their advertising.  Nike's contractual obligations may be different then ours.  Also Nike not only provides uniforms for the football program but also for other athletic programs at PSU that are not a part of this scandal.  Personally I think they'll continue their relationship with the university.  There is an awful lot of money involved.

This whole incident is so radically different than anything that has happened in the past that it's hard to tell just what might happen.

I love PSU's uniforms. I'm all for tradition rich schools with excellent old school uni's keeping they uniforms the way they are.

Schools with little tradition or bad old uniforms, change away.

Schools like USC, PSU, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Alabama, etc. should keep their unis just the way they are.

I 100% Agree. I am all for spicing things up regarding adding a new uniform, but changing, not so much. I like the aforementioned schools current uniforms, basic, but solid.

I too love the PSU uniform and have since I was a youngster. I vote to keep them and I hope Nike continues to support the other programs- my 8th grade daughter's dream is to play volleyball there.

As a lifelong PSU fan the whole situation sickens me.
I'm not commenting on the punishment itself except to say I think there may have been merit in letting the criminal cases finalize before deciding the punishment. Perhaps nothing new will come out of them, but I don't understand the rush.

My guess is that one day, every team will wear purple - and nothing but purple.  It's that good!!  ;)

Hi Guys, miss me?   ;)   Been a busy summer.  Just saw Matt B. on the local ABC news sportscast standing next to Jay!  This is so much fun.  He is an awesome young man and to have him in BEARS camp is just icing on the cake!   So excited for the new season, BEARS and WARHAWKS!!!!   ;)

As I reported three weeks ago I have been diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer and face the "battle of my life" over the next several months.  It is rather ironic that I used my Warhawkfootball.com over the past couple of years to assist former UW-Whitewater football players A. J. Raebel and Art Gutierrez in there repective battles with cancer.  A.J., a teacher and coach in Janesvile remains cancer free. Unfortunately Art lost his battle with colorectal cancer last December.  I wanted readers to know about the warning signs of cancer - something I failed to do myself over the past several months. Now I'm paying the price.

I have posted the first story on my Website to update readers on my situation.  If these stories can help just one reader to be aware of the warning signs and visit the doctor the stories will be worth it!!

Tom, I hope you know that A.J., Steve, his wife, his entire family and I will be forever grateful for the support that you, Paul Pulinske, Coach Brez and Coach L. gave to him and all of us during that incredibly challenging time.  Please know that you are in our hearts and prayers everyday.  Stay positive, seek out great doctors and treatments and never have a doubt that you WILL kick it's butt!!!   If I can do anything for you, please let me know.   :-*

Here's the video proof from nfl.com. If you miss the first 0.73 seconds of the 2:59 video, you missed it. But, in this one, #4's not standing next to Cutler. After the first 0.73 seconds, I'd advise you to shut it down as the whole thing is Brandon Marshall talking trash and how he and Cutler are going to have the type of season that books are written and movies are made.  ???   ::)

BTW, hi 413 - welcome back to the real world!!

413 - A sincere thank you for your thoughts and prayers.  After watching AJ's drive and motivation in defeating cancer I understand the power of "positive" thoughts.  I now watch AJ's coaching & teaching career, and life as a married man and think back to those days when AJ was battling his cancer. What a great story!!!!

He said to me once, "I don't think, why me?  I think, why not me?  I can fight it better than most!"  I meant it when I said that you should call if you need anything.  My car knows the way to WW so well, it could do it without me and I am pretty practiced when it comes to care giving.   8-)   You are loved by many, my friend.  Let the support lift and heal you.

Thanks, BoBo, the real world is pretty damn hot and dry these days.  BTW, NFL.com videos won't play for me right now for some reason.  Adobe crashes but my computer has no problem playing a Boston Terrier cuddling with the family guinea pig on Wimp.com so maybe that link is just sabotage by a Packers fan whose shaking at the thought of #6 finally getting an awesome target.  But, I wouldn't worry too much yet, Cheeseheads.  The Bears still have the same O line, for the most part.   ;)

Nice to have you back 413.  We're all hoping Matt makes the roster even if it is the Bears.  I thought you might find this interesting.
