"You mean WHEN you are undefeated at the end of the regular season, right?"

This comment reminds me- UWW plays Buffalo State the second game (week 3). Buff St had a respectable record last year playing a very good schedule. They open with 2 tough opponents before coming to UWW.  Just a reminder that as with every year, most every UWW opponent can be the streak-breaker.

I'm sure they felt it was respectable since they haven't had a winning season since '00 (7-4) when they played an independent schedule AND over the last 12 seasons, they've averaged slight over 3 wins a season. The Bengals were 5-5 overall (5-4 NJAC) last season. This will be like playing Midland or Dakota St. IMO except it's a D3 team. Franklin is a much better team and that regular season game at their place was not very competitive.

Hmm- this has wager action written all over it. If we had a time machine I would give you Franklin and 7 points last year vs Buff State. Franklin became a fan favorite based on 2010- but they really have benefitted from a weak schedule.  Buff State lost by a TD to two playoff teams last year. Their record dating back to 2000 concerns me not.

You mean you don't have your own DeLorean?

I just watched that movie- again.  Still makes me laugh.

Considering how weak the East Region has been lately, saying Buff St. lost to two playoff teams by a TD isn't saying much, IMO. One of them didn't get out of the second round and the other got smoked by the Tommies in the quarters. Mark my words, Buff St will be as uncompetitive as some of those NAIA's UWW has played recently. Good for us, as it isn't an NAIA and we'll be able to get a lot of guys playing time - just like usual. Sounds awful for Buff St, but it's just reality.

I respect your confidence Bobo. I will mark your words. I'm figuring it's a much tougher game than Campbellsville and closer to LaCrosse of last year.

Which La Crosse game 17? We did play them twice.

If you're thinking of first one, you're thinking of a 30 - 40 point win; if your thinking of the second, your're thinking of a 20 - 30 point win -- big difference. Need to see where you actually stand on this - being somewhat vague!!

One thing I think we both can agree on is that it won't match the intensity of a UWW-LaX game.  ;)  I see the Buff St game as one of those games where LL gives a postgame peptalk to the opponent.

Which LaCrosse are you talking about?
Game 1:  26-7
Game 2:  17-3
I'll go w game one.

You're the one who brought up the La Crosse game, not me.  But now that you say the Buff St game will be like La X game 1 - I'm saying double the score and you're probably right - a Campbellsville #2 score; a shade south of Midland - but nevertheless, never in doubt.

Bobo it's comforting to know you and I are still on different planets.

I'm taking Buff St and 24 (even though I think you'd give more) then-and no post game speech by LL to Buff St. Fair?

Dlip finds it interesting there is so much talk here about the Buff St U-DUB DUB game. As an east region fan dlip can say, with some confidence, that unless a Buff St team from the late 80's shows up, the game will not be all that close. Buff St is trying to get back to where they once were. Dlip gives them a ton of credit for their challenging schedule. Specifically the game with such an excellent program like U-DUB. Yet this team is some time away from even being considered a decent east region football team. To dlip, this match-up is more about the future of the Buff St program. A turn in the right direction if you will. Dlip wishes them all the luck,in the world but feels that this game may be over before it starts.

UW-Whitewater place-kicker Eric Kindler has been named to the 2012 Fred Mitchell Award Watch List.

The Watch List for the Fred Mitchell Award includes 44 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II, III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) collegiate place-kickers that were nominated by their colleges for excellence on the football field and in the community.  Kindler's 22 field goals made last year tied the school record set by Jeff Schebler in 2008.  Schebler won the Mitchell Award in  2009.

With me being on the third rock from our sun, where does that leave you, e(T)17?

D3football Preseason top 25 is out

1.  UWW  616 pts. (17 first place votes)  Surprisingly, one voter, I believe, has UWW ranked #3  ???
2.  UMU   608 pts. (8 first place votes)

23. Platteville 96 pts. (this is not a misprint - I double checked!)
RV  Oshkosh  35 pts.

I was talking with one rather knowlegeable WIAC football fan last night. The conversation was about what conference team will be the strongest behind UWW at the top of the WIAC. His answer was unequivocally UW-Platteville. The Pioneers finished 2nd in the conference last year and featured the WIAC's No. 2 defense (scoring & rushing D). UWP returns eight offensive starters, nine more on defense.  If you remember last year Platteville was tied at 14-all at halftime of its game at Whitewater and trailed by just 6 points heading into the 4th quarter.  The question will be can the Pioneers repeat its defensive effort this season.

He's the only kicker on the list to teach and play "Fistball."  I would say, with his feet or with his  hands, he's got to be the best!!  What the heck is "fistball" though?

It's similar to volleyball.  Two teams try to hit a ball over a net so their opponent can't return it. Unlike volleyball the ball can bounce between players hitting it and the field is much larger than a volleyball court.   It actually dates back to the Romans.

In modern times it is dominated by the Germans.
