BTW, you haven't added your 2 cents on the rules of the pick em's yet. Thoughts?

I've always been in the vocal minority when it comes to the pickem's, trying to use common sense, a bit of adventure, and creativity in crafting an interesting contest...only to be shot down by those (usually every one else) who want to maintain the same stale, mundane, status quo contest. I'm not even going to waste my time by going down that lonely road again. I'm just going to wait and see what you guys come up with before I decide if I'm going to participate this year.

It appears BoBo is playing hard ball  making sure this year's WIAC Pickem is crafted possibly to favor of the foreigner from the Far East. I'm just saying... 8-)

It is an undisputable fact that football in Texas is HUGE.  Now comes word that a 297 lb 12 year old has been banned from playing Peewee League football.

Even though we have 3 WIAC vs WIAC games this week, they are recognized as non-conf - so they are 1-point games ... correct?

Will the top 25 games be 1 or 2 points?

And what if they are top 25 non-conf games  ....  and what if .... and what if .... and what if ....  :P

NC games of any kind should be 1 point, WIAC conference games are the only ones that should be worth two points, top 25 or other games of national interest should be worth 1 point. Those should be my only opinions.
OK, BoBo.  Since it wouldn't be the same without you, and because you had a point back on Sept. 21, 2011, we are going to score WIAC Conference games with 2 points, Non-conference games with 1 point and ALL NC games are one point incuding the four NC games between WIAC teams.  I will wait until the Sept. 29th weekend when conference play starts to include 3 national games taken from the D3football's TOP 25 which will also be scored with 1 point.  All in favor, say aye, those opposed, say you'll run the pick em's.   ;)
I am sure this doesn't have the sense of adventure or creativity that you were hoping for, using point spreads, (above my pay grade), etc., BoBo, but, you always have the OAC pick em's for that.   ;D

Have I forgotten anything?  If not, head over to the WIAC pick em's page and proclaim your intention to compete, please.  Good luck to all!

Thanks, BoBo, but you can't be surprised that I did my research and would have my i's dotted and my t's crossed. This isn't my first rodeo, after all.  You can be surprised, however, that I actually remembered that there was a convo a year ago about the scoring to research.  ;) :D ;D
And besides, I subscribe to the age old theory that, "a woman has to work twice as hard as a man to be thought half as good!"    8-)

Good stuff, voice. I like the bit about LL talking about his running backs. Looks like we have a ton of talent at the position over the next few years.

We'll have a better feel for the tailback spot following this afternoon's scrimmage vs. Rockford College

Just got home after watching UWW scrimmage Rockford College at the Perk.

The scrimmage started slow but picked up the pace quickly. The defense looked pretty strong forcing four turnovers in the first half-hour of action. My two defensive hits of the game: Loussaint Minett blew up a Rockford reverse in the backfield early in the scrimmage.  Ryan Wenkman had perhaps the hit of the day – a decleater along the sideline against a Rockford running back.

On offense, Lee Brekke showed experience and poise in the pocket.  As far as the tailback spot is concerned...

Dez Ward is the lone returnee from last year.  The rotation Friday included Ward along with Ryan Givens (transfer from Illinois State), Richard Holder (transfer from Concordia-St. Paul) along with freshmen Josh Williams (Downers Grove South, IL), Nick Patterson (Sussex Hamilton), Dennis Moore (Elgin, IL) and Jordan Ratliffe (Milwaukee Vincent). It will be interesting to see what the rotation will be for the Warhawks' season opener in St. Louis vs. Washington University on Friday, August 31.
