I understand the respect for USP as they are certainly talented and experienced.  I'm not convinced they are "there" yet, which IMO means they can't lose more than once in conference.  The new uni's are cool though.

To get "there" in your way of thinking, I will give them some respect...until then, they're just another team that always seems to mess up our pickem picks! You all know it true so don't be afraid to just say it like it is. Just like Seinfeld used to say "Newman" I say "Platteville."

As for the uni's, the style has only subtle changes - not much different then what they wore last year - just a few more color options. BTW, do D3 schools pay for their own uniforms out of their pocket or do schools have apparel contracts like the big schools with the manufacturers or retailers? (for some reason I couldn't imagine Nike, Under Armour, Adidas or anybody else getting involved with the majority of D3 institutions - but I could be wrong). If it comes out of their budget, makes me wonder why these schools are playing each other twice to save money on non-conference travel. Those white helmets alone for an entire team must retail for well over 20 grand. Now, if they have some deal in place to pay for them, I'd say be greedy and get as many as you can.

Personally, I don't mind orange as a trim color, but really don't like the look as a primary color.

Yup....... :o

It's disgusting enough to possess child pornography but producing it takes it to an entirely different level.  That is just heinous. I can't imagine the humilation that his family must feel at this time.

Beginning my final week of radiation and chemo today.  For the first time over the weekend I questioned if I will be able to travel down to St. Louis at the end of the month to watch UWW open the season at Wash U.  Being able to attend the game has been my motivation but for the first time I'm not so sure travelling would be in my best interest.  I have to get back into that "one day at a time" attitude don't I?

Meanwhile: I will never adequately be able to thank those of you who have gratiously made donations to my daughter's Team Tom Cancer Fund Web Site.
http://www.gofundme.com/Teamtom?ref=nf
Your generosity has been totally humbling for me and my family!!

I am so glad you posted this.  I was unaware of the fund.  I will be making my donation soon. In the middle of traveling right now.  Hope you feel well enough to travel to the game but taking care of yourself is what is most important right now.  Focusing on kicking cancers butt is your first priority!  Thoughts and prayers are with you!!

Just saw this as well.  I called my wife and she will be making a donation today.  Cancer has touched both sides of our families.  You are in our prayers.

I'm pretty sure for D3 the schools have to buy all of their own things.  Whitewater has been paired with New Balance and I know LAX is pairing with Adidas for this season, but they don't get apparel or anything for free.  They may get some discounts and such, but they still come from the football budget or fundraisers.

Every team is different in their financial situations.  Lax could not come close to affording to buying all of those uniforms like UWP did, much less purchasing a second helmet for the whole team.

It's not surprising that Emendorfer (and his white jump suit) would spring for the different uni/helmet combos, he has always come across as "image" and "look" to be huge deals to him.  I couldn't see Coach Leipold and the Warhawks caring much about multiple helmets or 10 different uni combinations, even though I'm sure they could find the money to do so.

Whitewater has their fare share of uni (pants/jersey) combinations:

purple on purple
purple on white
purple on black
black and black
etc..
etc..
etc..

But their helmet remains the same no matter the uni combination.

Last year's Stagg Bowl UWW introduced a new jersey. Black on Black with silver looking lettering. I haven't decided if I like those yet.

Image and Look- 2 more reasons I can't jump on the UWP bus.

I guess I can delete my post but I can't edit it.  Anyway...didn't mean to sound sour on UWW.  Sounds like you guys are diehard fans and enthusiastic.  But I hope we have more WIAC discussion.  Sounds like competition is going to be stiff this year.
Is there any team that is not expected to be as good as they were due to losing a lot of seniors or whatever?
Blugolds have their scrimmage tomorrow.  Right now the plan is to attend although work can interfere.  Although I can't always tell much from a scrimmage, particularly if they are trying out all 140+ players, but perhaps I will have something to add to the conversation.  Maybe I can bring a scale and have Sweeney step on it??  8-)

UW-Stevens Point will have their challenges this year with a new coaching staff.

I am hoping the Falcons of UW-River Falls are improved in Matt Walker's second year leading the program.  They were definitely a better team by the end of the year last year than they started out.  They were EXTREMELY competitive their last four games.

BleedP--Reports from Falcon practices are positive. Those close to the program are saying 3 wins is possible. Simpson, UST, Stout start could be 2-1 for the first 3. We have a new rb, McCune, from Elmwood, who could, could I say, be very good. We are stronger at almost every position, according to one observer very close to the program. And....so far we're unbeaten!

How bad are fans, alumn, etc....begging for a new stadium? I think that'll do wonders for that program.

Isn't UWRF getting a new gym either this year or next? I thought I read that somewhere.

That's good to hear.  UW-RF has a great tradition.  They were downright powerful under Coach Farley and then had some formidable teams under Coach O'Grady as well.  It will be good to see them rise up and add to the crazy competitive mix that is the WIAC!
