Yes, a new football stadium is in the works, plus a new indoor facility, to begin construction in 2014.

The football grandstand renovation will be complete and ready for play August, 2014, if things proceed according to plan. However, we're still looking for one deep pocketed contributor who can donate a quarter to half million. It seems were short sugar daddies around here.

1 minute left in third quarter...will Blanchard get into the national TV game tonight in NY?

DD on tv was just saying how hard it is for an UDFA to get enough time in camp these days to make an impression.

As Dierdorf asks, do the bears go with Blanchard or go with the security of a 10 year vet [who nearly tripped over his own foot on his first play and who has more INT's in his career than TD passes]? I think it's easy choice from my chair.

Not even one snap tonight..that blows

I think everything is going to turn out just fine in the end...at least that is my prediction.  ;)

He did get some positive air time vibes for himself and his school, however. Not many UDFA QB's get that much. Monmouth's Tanney with the Chiefs has yet to throw a pass or play during the pre-season.

This gave me a little chuckle when I read it:

Wednesday, the Badgers practiced in their special all-red helmets that they will be wearing when they open the B10 season at Nebraska. Montee Ball liked them, Chris Borland didn't.

"I actually do like them; they fit comfortably,'' Ball said. "It changes it up a little bit.''

When Borland was asked about the helmets, he smiled and said, "Off the record?''

Shrugging his shoulders, he stressed, "I really don't care. I'd play in a purple helmet.''

8-)

Voice,
It sounds like you are making the trip! That's awesome! Will be at pre-game social, the game, and the Renaissance.  Is the stream I-phone friendly?

Also, loved the final paragraph of your most recent post regarding Washington U.  The AAU "Egghead Eight" and "Nerdy-Nine" references made me laugh out loud at a Mcdonald's and the lady in the next booth just looked at me like I was crazy! :)

Since only four schools play football, it's tougher to come up with a similar alliteration.  "Quick-witted Quad"?

BleedP... Actually I have made the decision to NOT make the trip to St. Louis.  My radiation and chemo have sapped quite a bit of my strength and for the first time in along time I think I'm making the wise decision.  This will be just the second Warhawk football game I'll miss since arriving in town in 1988.  The other game was in November of 2006 down at Mary Hardin-Baylor a couple weeks following my stroke.

Partly personal...  The Team Tom Cancer Fund has been established by fomer Warhawk football coach Bob Berezowitz, UWW athletic director Paul Plinke and Jim Vriezen and Shane Sparks, KOOL 106.5.

Bleedpurple,

From past experience I can tell you that Stretch Internet video feeds like Wash U. has do work on iPhones and other mobile devices.

Sorry to hear that, Voice. Good for you to make a wise decision, though.  Take care of yourself, rest up, and shoot for the home opener September 15th!
